Another Week Another Pound

We're experiencing early winter driving conditions here in northern Michigan. I debated about whether to drive the 10 miles to my weigh-in, but the sun was shining so decided to chance it. I was rewarded with a 1# loss which made me happy I went. The roads on the trip home were improved so it wasn't a difficult drive. Next Thursday is the holiday of course, so no meeting. My goal is to record another small loss at first meeting in December.

No Days Off

Missed my weight loss group a week ago yesterday because I was traveling. It seems like each time that happens, I experience a small gain. Frustrating to me, since I have years of experience in this battle, and it seems that I should be able "to do it myself." As it was, gained 1/2 pound of October loss back, will get busy this week and work to get rid of it and hopefully a little more. The cold weather isn't helping, as it changes my movement options and seems to give me more appetite. So, although I don't like the gain, I will take the advice of another blog I read recently, "accept it and move on."

That would be worth examining and figuring out if there is a correlation, cause and effect if you want to think of it in that manner! I do think you are being a little hard on yourself because support is crucial in keeping on the healthy life plan~

As you are traveling can you do indoor exercises or videos, bring along resistance bands or alter your exercise to shake things up?

5K Hike

DS#1 visiting for a couple of days. He has lost a total of 95 pounds, working hard at the gym and giving up processed and fast food. Today he decided we should hike a 3.1 mile loop on state land near here. They probably call it rolling terrain, I thought there were more hills than necessary, lol. I had forgotten how great the woods are after the bugs leave. Temperature was mild, very little wind. It was a pleasant experience which we followed up with a healthy dinner. It will probably be next Spring before we can repeat it, and no doubt the bugs will be back in force.

Could Have Been Worse

Although I fell short of my goal of losing weight for 2nd week in a row, I did score a very solid "stayed the same." As I think back over my week and look at my food diary, I was probably lucky to achieve that. I was not as conscientious about my evening snacks, and my water consumption is way below recommended. Will tackle those two things this coming week and see if I can move that scale again. I am lucky to have a group of great supportive ladies in my small weight loss group in addition to all the support of Spark teammates.

Finally left the fractions behind

I've been coasting along with 1/4 pound losses, gains, for awhile now. Decided to get serious this past week and lost 2.25 at weigh-in today. Was top loser in my little weight loss group. Now to keep momentum going. It was not rocket science. Practiced portion control, raked a lot of leaves, and reduced the amount of evening eating. Felt good.
