I have been fighting a miserable cough -the after effects of a cold earlier this winter. Today I felt tired and was coughing. I did NOT want to exercise! I tried to argue my way out of walking. But, it was on my list of "things to do today". Every time I looked at my to-do list, it was there. Plus, I asked my Sunday School class to hold me accountable. So, I promised myself "10 minutes, then I can throw myself down on the bed." And maybe I'd put in 10 minutes later on. Maybe.
I walked for 10 minutes; I still felt tired, but not bad, so, okay - I'll go for 15 minutes. Then 20. Then it was only 5 more minutes and I'd have 30 minutes in! I am still tired, but I feel accomplished! I pushed through the strong desire to do nothing! The first step and then the first 10 minutes are the hardest. If I can get past those two issues, I can do the rest with no problem.
