If you messed up yesterday -- forget about it & move on. Don't beat yourself up. Just make sure you take the lessons learned from yesterday & apply them to today. Don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow has enough problems of it's own. Just live for today -- live in the moment.
Matthew 6:34 (NSV): So donít worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Todayís trouble is enough for today.
We are ALL going to have times when the needle on the scale doesn't move. I'm at that point right now & have been for about a month. At first I didn't get too upset about it because I know that I feel better, but then the plateau just kept going & going & going (like the Energizer Bunny).
So, I pulled out my trusty little measuring tape. WooHoo!! Even though a month had gone by & I hadn't lost any weight, I was ECSTATIC to find I had lost 1/2 an inch in my hips!! 1/2 an inch!!! Wow!! That's !!
I reminded myself that there are non-scale victories on this journey & that I shouldn't get discouraged. I know I'm doing all the right things. Here's a list of some non-scale victories:
Just look at all the things on this list!! And I know there are more. The best one that's not on this list is when your hubby tells you every couple of days how proud he is of you. Whoa! Need to grab a tissue for that one!
Lessons learned: When the scale isn't moving, keep those non-scale victories in mind & keep making those good decisions anyway. Persistence & consistency are the key!
One final thought: A lot of us have come a long way, so we have to stop looking at how far we still have to go.
