Attitude adjustment (part 2).

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Yesterday when I got to work, I talked to a good friend of mine regarding my frustrations about not being able to make it to the gym & she cheered me up. She has an amazing sense of humor & she had me laughing in no time. I love having friends like that.

Thanks to all of you, too, for your advice. I appreciate your encouragement so much.

I get up super early in the morning (3:45 a.m.) & when I go to the gym, I usually get home around 6:00 p.m. Enough time to eat dinner, spend time with hubby, pack lunches & iron clothes for the next day & go to bed. The last couple of days, we haven't had enough people in our carpool to ride in the carpool lanes, so it's been taking us 2 hours to get home from work. Consequently, I've been getting home at 6:00 p.m.

I want to spend time with hubby in the evening, so the only time I had yesterday to get a workout in was at lunch. I don't exercise much during lunch (except to walk in place) because I don't have access to a shower. But yesterday, I JOGGED in place for 30 minutes while reading my Kindle.

Anyone who knows me knows that I don't jog or run unless I'm being chased & don't want to be caught. emoticon I can Zumba or do aerobics for an hour & it doesn't phase me, other than to sweat a lot, but for whatever reason, I just don't jog or run.

After my jog, I felt GREAT!! I might have to do that more often. I just have to make sure I have plenty of Body Spray in my desk drawer since I can't take a shower. emoticon

Lessons learned: If I suspect I can't make it to the gym, I can fit in some exercise during my lunch break. (By the way, I had 12000 steps by the time I went to bed last night. Yay!!).

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

Awesome way of taking care of the problem and finding some solutions and trying and learning some new things about yourself along the way. I too have a busy schedule and find it difficult to work out but know that the rewards are worth all the effort and that no type of workout is too little as long as I'm moving. I must admit though I have been feeling bummed out since last Saturday since I stopped working out but then when I do think about it I have been staying active in other ways with walking, being active with my students, etc. Well, I guess we know what's on your X-mas list...more body spray! lol!

That was great! You are right, we can always try and step up the steps on our pedometer.

May I recommend a Fitness video to you: "Walk away the pounds" with Leslie Sansone, I have seen them at Walmart, or just get some on ebay.

It's a great 30-45 minute video you can do at home, It not too hard to follow the steps, but it gets the blood flowing and heart pumping and burns calories.

Also, I have read that weight loss is 80% eating right and 20% exercise. Yes exercise is so good for us, for many reasons, but if your scehdule doesn't allwo it, you can still lose weight.

Way to go finding a way to fit it in!

Yay !! You tweak a little of your idea and be creative is the ways to go. I'm proud of your never
Give up spirits to get your work out in your busy life style. 2 hr to get to your work is crazy. You must live in a big city. I hate those traffic jam in the city or area you live just to get to work. You should be proud of yourself and pat your shoulder for doing this. Since you can't take shower at your work place, but there is some disposable wet towel you can buy, or bring towel from your home let wet towel a bit in the ziplock bag and if your work place have a refrigerator to keep employ's lunch. Put your towel with your lunch. This way after your work out you are feel clean and cool off from your work out sweat. Best wishes from me always and take care!

Attitude adjustment.

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

I need an attitude adjustment today. ::sigh:: I am frustrated that I haven't been able to go to the gym since Saturday, due to circumstances way beyond my control. I'm PRAYING that tonight I can finally make it, but circumstances aren't looking promising for tonight either. ::another sigh:: I can feel my stress level rising. I have relied so much on exercise to boost my mood & to relieve my stress.

The truth is, we all are going to have times of frustration like this -- it's just a part of life. But, in the meantime I need to get rid of this bad attitude. It's leaking over into everything & I don't like who I am with a bad attitude.

So today, even though it's looking like I probably won't make it to the gym again, I am DETERMINED to have a good day anyway.

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

Love the pic and the quote!

You can try playing upbeat music and dancing at home or watching a funny or inspirational show on tv if you have time.

Then, there's always meditation.

Hope you make it to the gym soon.

Well, life happens sometimes. You'll get back to the gym and back to your normal routine when you're able to! Drink a little extra water and watch the snacks!

I love going to the gym, and don't know what I'd do if I couldn't. But there are two things that help me burn some calories and feel great afterwards when I am stuck at home - gardening (some serious pruning etc) and attacking a cupboard, pulling everything out, and having a huge clean up.

Do you have some secret frustration-busting ideas that you had forgotten about? I bet you do!!

Have an awesome day, no matter what you do!

Isn't it funny that you are stressing about NOT going to the gym (remember when Going to the gym was something you dreaded?) You're growing and changing and have an overall great attitude. Do what you can. emoticon

Just try to relax and center. Control what you can accept what you can't. Take a long walk or do a mini-workout at home. I know you can handle this.

emoticon emoticon One thing I've started is Yoga. Not to do a full session, but to use a little of it's relaxation techniques. It seems to help clear and reset the mind.

Live in the moment.

Monday, November 12, 2012

If you messed up yesterday -- forget about it & move on. Don't beat yourself up. Just make sure you take the lessons learned from yesterday & apply them to today. Don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow has enough problems of it's own. Just live for today -- live in the moment.

Matthew 6:34 (NSV): So donít worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Todayís trouble is enough for today.

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

Yeah, yesterday our family had a early thanksgiving dinner and my husband's niece family were very late for the dinner. I normally eaten by no later then 6:30 pm. But yesterday, we all have to wait for them. So we ended up start eating close to 9:00 pm. By that time, I was very angry and starving. I shoveled way a lot foods then I should have to my mouth. Plus a nice portion of a cheese cake. After the dinner over, I have feeling of " I messed it up on my diet" I felt defeated by my "evil twin sister inside of me." But as you said here also. I took the lesson learned and forgive myself and I started a brand new day today. I had a good cardio session this morning and went to gym and used a sauna there and sweat it out. Thanks goodness, what a relief !! ^_−☆

I love your blog, thanks for sharing !!
