We're all going to have some good days & some bad days. That's when it's important to focus on your big WHY (why you want to reach your goal). If you don't have a big WHY, find one today! Don't wait. It's very important for your success. Your big WHY is your light at the end of the tunnel that you want to work towards every day, choice by choice, step by step, workout by workout.
This body is the only one we have & I feel bad that I didn't take better care of it before now. No time to beat myself up though. It's time to learn from my mistakes & move forward to a healthier & better lifestyle.
Try not to look at the big, big picture of how much weight you need to lose or how much training you need to do for your race, etc. Just work your plan in small chunks. That way it isn't so overwhelming. Set those smaller goals along the way toward your big goal to help you get there.
Most of you know by now that I'd been sick for well over a week & it started with a stinky, heavily pollinated plant in my office at work. First off was the killer sinus infection, then "chest goop" as I call it. Boooo to asthma!! It turns everything into "chest goop."
Soooooo, yesterday was my first time at the gym in a week & a half. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. I was actually a bit jittery as I changed from my work clothes to my workout clothes. I was from ear to ear.
When I got on that first machine . . . man . . . total bliss!! I felt STRONG . My muscles had quite a break & they were ready to rock & roll!!!
After my workout was done, I could almost hear my body singing the Hallelujah Chorus!!
No kidding!!! Never in a million years did I think I'd crave exercise like that. I've come to depend on it as my major stress relief & mood booster. Try it!!! I think you'll see what I mean. It might take you a few months to start the "craving" part, but if you keep at it, the craving WILL come. Our bodies were made to move!!
There was a time in my life when I was a Negative Nelly. To quote my dad, "I wouldn't have been happy if I'd been hung with a new rope." I'm so glad I'm not that way anymore. I think a lot of it was health issues (this was long before I was diagnosed with breast cancer). I was in pain all the time & didn't know why. I had a hard time getting out of bed in the morning & life just wasn't that grand. It was very difficult to function & I had chronic insomnia. I'm so blessed that the doctor finally figured out what my issue was & prescribed a medication that changed my life.
Being able to deal with breast cancer & still have a positive attitude was monumental!! My doctor said that in order to beat it, a positive attitude was KEY.
Life is so much more fun now!! I enjoy new adventures with my hubby.
Let's not only spread the Spark, let's spread positivity!!
My turn to spread it:
You all are !! Thank you for your support & encouragement every single day!! You help keep me motivated! You are a true blessing to me.
