Good things are coming, don't stop walking.

Thursday, June 27, 2013

My goal every day is just to keep on walking. I have my kitchen stocked with healthy foods, lean proteins, healthy fats & whole grains. I have healthy snacks in my desk at work. I pack my breakfast & lunch most every day so that I don't get side-tracked. I aim for 5 servings of veggies & 3 servings of fruit every day (in case you didn't know, that's a LOT of food -- I rarely get hungry). I exercise at least 5 days a week -- I have 2 built in rest days & on those days, I still try to get 5000 to 8000 steps.

All these little things add up. It all counts.

Day after day, it gets easier. I still have some rebellious days, but I think we all will. Most of the time, I do what is heading me toward my goals. I may have an off day here & there, but overall, I'm still walking toward those good things.

I want to be unstoppable!!

The progress may be slow, but slow is still progress. emoticon

I want to enjoy the ride on the way to my destination.

Let's go!!

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

I'm with MLH148. I think part of enjoying the roller coaster ride is the screaming!

We just finished VBS, and our theme was Colossal Coaster World. The songs included the screaming as part of the fun of the ride...

You always write a very inspiring blog! Thank you! Spark on, Girl!

I have found at certain times when I am exercising (I walk with Leslie Sansone 3 miles every day) I tend to feel more tired or a little bit achy. I get past it by completing my exercise. I also found it depends on the time of the day. I do better around 10 am in the morning, if I wait until late afternoon 4 or 5 I tend to have those feelings. I think being able to accomplish this I need to look at 10am every morning.

Benefits of exercise

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I have found all of these things to be true. I remember when I first started exercising -- I really didn't have any energy, but I have to say . . . exercise gives you an amazing energy boost. Your body was made for movement & it craves movement (even when your mind doesn't). Once you get started & are consistent, you'll be hooked for life!! emoticon

When I do a bit of exercise at lunch time, I don't get that afternoon "sleepy" feeling. I get the boost that I need to make it through the rest of the day. My concentration is also better.

There are other benefits as well: Improved blood pressure, improved circulation, improved concentration & heart/lung function. I could go on & on, but you get the picture.

Strength training is key. Would you like to burn more calories even while you're at rest? Strength training is your friend, then. Muscle burns more calories than fat.

Need to add a little boost to your workouts? Awesome music is key!! I've noticed that the better I like the music, the harder & longer I work out.

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

Life is too short to wait!!

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Start living your best life now. You never know what tomorrow is going to bring. I'm done sitting on the sidelines watching life just pass me by. I want to enjoy life now. I can already do so many things that I couldn't do before. I can't wait to put my "tiny little butt" into an airplane seat!! emoticon

Isn't that an exciting thought?

We need to roll up our sleeves & get to work!!! We've got some LIVING to do!!!!

Only you can stop you, so don't stop yourself!!!

Keep trying day after day.

And don't forget your sense of humor along the way. emoticon

Let's roll!!!

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

Would you use old bricks . . .

Sunday, June 23, 2013

to build a new building?

Of course not!!! The building wouldn't look very nice but it also wouldn't be very strong. If a big storm came through, it might not withstand the winds.

Ok, new question: Would you use old habits to build your new body? Ouch!!!

I know we try, but we won't be successful. My old habits consist of sitting most of the day, eating sweets, chips & processed foods. I've tried that route before & it didn't work. It just got me to my top weight of 213.

I had to get some new habits -- new bricks -- fruits, veggies, lean proteins, whole grains & exercise. This time, I'm going to build a better me -- a strong me with a strong immune system!! I want to be able to withstand the strong winds.

It's time to throw the old bricks away. Pull out those nice shiny new bricks to build the new you.

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon
