Some people have a lot of trouble with focus, but I really have not been having that problem. I think it's because I am so DONE with being overweight & I need to do this for my health. My risk of cancer returning is higher because of my weight.
One other thing that helps me, and I've mentioned it before in one of my earlier blogs, is that I created the visual motivators as suggested by SparkPeople to help keep me on track.
Mine consists of 2 pages. One collage I named Motivation. It contains pictures of me over the past couple of years during my yo-yo dieting phase, along with the information I had listed on my motivation worksheet - my reasons for wanting to lose weight.
The second collage I named Inspiration. That collage contains pictures of me when I was in my early 20s & very fit & trim, along with before & after photos of people who have lost lots of weight.
I have a set of these pages on my refrigerator, a set at work & I have photos of the 2 pages on my cell phone. I have access to them when I need them & they help me stay focused on my goal. If I keep the goal in front of me at all times, I have no problem staying within my calorie range each day or doing my planned workouts.
