The Joy of Sriracha

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Now that I am diabetic, I'm having to deal with my bad self on a higher level, I am rediscovering spices and trying my best to eliminate the poisons that I have so long put into my body. I have to remember to ask myself do I want it or do I need it. If I need it I can make it taste good. Faith and will...

You can do it and we will be here to encourage you along the way. I have heart disease, so I have been making better choices; I used to eat fried foods three to four days a week. Today, I very seldom eat fried food. I choose to help my body to heal itself one day at a time. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

on track

Monday, May 28, 2012

Its been a few days and I'm feeling on track. I've cut down on the carve and I'm pushing up the veggies. The goal is to have my sugar down by August. I'm pretty motivated and I have an entire month before I start night classes again. If I can't get myself in balance how can I even think about getting a better job in human services. I'm learning to put myself first and its hard.

My rather large hump.

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

So I just finished my 6 day course of predisone and I am hoping that my appetite will subside. I have probably gained three pounds (real, not water) in the last six days and now its time to get back into a routine and declutter my life. I ordered a pet stroller to take my neurotic cat out on the town. We'll see if that helps me get some excersize, too. Wish me luck.

Post Mardi Gras- back in the saddle

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Mardi Gras was not that bad. I don't drink so no upset there. I did have some unhealthy food, but I paid the price for that and I won't be doing that until the next evil holiday. I'm looking forward to the next forty days of healthy living. To that end I did all of my excercising this morning, including the bicycle. I think I am going to give up TV for lent. I'm going to take a queue from my friends of the Catholic faith and just do it. Anyway, it makes me lazy and I could be doing so many more interesting things. I have to find that IPod now.

Continuing the good work in the new year

Friday, December 30, 2011

I have two goals in the New Year; one is to try to always do things that I will be proud of and the other is to take risks.

This year was a bit hard for me because of two hip surgeries. I did not gain any weight, but I did not loose any either. What I did loose was muscle and i need to get that back. Hopefully, stating this will help me move in the right direction.

Good luck to everyone else on this path.
