Is it finally time to restart?

Saturday, August 09, 2008

I went to the doctor this week. Still don't have all the results, but you know how it is, step on the scale: up 35 pounds from last fall. So, so wrong, on so many levels.

I have never been motivated by health fears. Lectures don't do it for me. Somewhere there has to be a place in my soul that wants it, and it hasn't been there for a while.

I'm starting to feel it come back. I hope this is real.

Still sliding the wrong way

Monday, May 26, 2008

I started here at SparkPoints hoping to gain some motivation. I had already been slipping and sliding in the wrong direction, not taking as good care of myself as I should. Eating things I know are bad for my cholesterol, not getting regular exercise (irregular, yes, but not routine)... and hoping for motivation to kick in.

I had done so well, as the photos attest. Well, not so well, and it continues. But I continue to have hope. Tomorrow I start a new work schedule, which I have NOT been looking forward to, but maybe, just maybe... I'll be able to incorporate a few better habits into it?

Wish me luck!

Mother's Day

Sunday, May 11, 2008

Happy Day to all who are and/or have a mother today!

The scale says I'm dropping pounds, but to be honest, it is not because of my resolved healthier lifestyle, this week. It can probably mostly be attributed to dehydration over the past two days, when I succumbed to the season and the plantlife.

I usually have about two weeks a year when I take allergy meds. I probably should have started taking them a week ago, but I'm stubborn, and didn't until it got so bad, as they say... and I ended up bedridden with the drugs for a day and a half.

Today... I'm on the allergy meds, but not bedridden. Hope to take it easy, and be back on track with normal healthy lifestyle tomorrow.

Take Care, and Happy Mothers Day! I too have seasonal allergies, but with menopause around the corner I don't have them as much now, but still have to watch out when I am outside too much. Looking to eat healthier and get more sleep and lose a few pounds before June 14th, my daughters wedding. I just joined this group not too long ago too. trying to figure out all the things it offers, I have saved about 25 recipes that sound really good. MJ

I tried to write a Day One blog entry yesterday...

Saturday, May 03, 2008

It may have been Day One of my membership at SparkPeople, but it would not have been Day One of my efforts to live a healthier lifestyle.

Thing is, either every day is day one, or day one was the day you started making your own choices, which could have been about 4th or 5th grade, even younger for some of us.

So here's to a healthy day one... today is the only May 3rd, 2008 we'll ever live.
