A nice surprise

Today I was working out at the gym when someone half my age spoke to me. This young woman stopped me while I was lifting weight on the incline bench. She wanted to tell me that she had seen me at the gym over the last few months and wanted to complement me on my consistency and effort. Then she said because of me and my results, she was going to start weight training. She could see over the time how it had worked for me. Wow, what a nice surprise. Someone noticed! In just a few weeks I will be celebrating my 60th birthday and my future fitness and health is looking bright.

The holiday weekend is almost upon us. Time to relax with friends and family. The challenge for me is the food and drinks that flow during the holidays. I know I need to plan and have healthy options, but gosh sometimes it is just hard. My goal is to stay focused this holiday. Let's see how I do.

My what a busy day I had today. It was a wake up to an alarm day to go to work. (this is rare for me since my retirement) But I am enjoying my part time summer job and extra money is always good. My entire day was full with friends and social functions after work and a charity event after that.

The good news is I stayed on track with my food consumption and tracked it all. I made myself a priority and took time to Spark, log in and track. My reward, I got 25 bonus points at log in and on my extra spin. This has never happened to me before. Maybe my luck is changing.

Today, the scale was my friend! After a week of a slow but steady climb, the scale came back down to my all time low. Why? I have no idea. Maybe I will never know. What I do know is I stayed focused, increased my water consumption and kept true to my workout routine. I did add more walking too.

Day two of my renewed commitment to this journey. The scale has been ticking upward... What to do? I just will continue to track my food, increase my activity and have faith in this process.

Today I walked over 90 minutes and still went to the gym for my strength workout. I can do this.

All my food is logged in. Water has been consumed. I am giving this my all.

Now all I can do is wait and see if all this will turn the scale back. Just hope and pray the scale does not go up again.
