Just a little update on how I have been doing with my weight loss goals. Since I started tracking my food, I have been eating a much cleaner, more plant focused diet, yea!!! This has made me focus more on the nutrient value of what I am putting in my mouth and I am actually less worried about the calorie count than making sure I am getting what I need in protein, fiber, etc. By focusing on those things, I usually average in the middle of my calorie range. I have had much more energy for my daily life and although I am not following a set exercise schedule, I have been working in activities throughout the day such as a 10 min walk at lunch and dancing to the radio, as well as picking up my free weights while watching tv. My fat pants are getting looser every week and I think I will have to wear a belt with my jeans next Friday which is awesome! It's a little frustrating that I am still pretty close to my starting weight, however if I keep my slow and steady pace that I have adopted I should reach my short term goal of 160 by summer (in order to fit into my summer clothes from last year) and my ultimate goal of 130 by Christmas. I can live with that emoticon

Hello 170's!!!! I am so happy to see you :) I might stay here for a little while, but once I am gone I WILL NOT be coming back.... you see I am doing this weight loss thing the right way this time around and I am fully confident in my ability to I will enjoy the visit while it lasts and then its au revoir!

I just enjoyed a small ten min walk around the back parking lot at work and IT WAS GREAT! I think I will start bringing my sneakers and start incorporating a walk in at lunch every day weather permitting :) Of course I will need to walk longer than 10 mins to get the health benefits, but it has been so long that my walking muscles are out of practice. So I will need to build up to 30 minutes. emoticon

I have been feeling pretty crappy today with an allergy induced headache, so at lunch I went for my fave fast food lunch at McDonalds (SW grilled Chix salad, fruit and yogurt parfait, and a lg DDP). Well all was fine until about halfway through my soda, my tastebuds started telling me that it was regular Dr. Pepper and about an hour later when my sugar high crashed, I am convinced that I consumed about 250 empty cals of soda, aagghh! I do not drink soda on a regular basis, but when I do I always choose the diet kind because I do not get the sugar crash. Needless to say my calorie count is thrown off for today and I probably will never order another ddp through the drivethru. Watch out, I am cranky! emoticon

    Don't you just hate that!! I just get a cup and drink the water...saves me the $$ and the calories. And the parfait is good enough to just enjoy--even with water. But--live and learn!! Good for you--eating pretty healthy!

emoticon I am feeling particularly fabulous today. Ever since I started tracking my food and cutting out the sweets (I did have some dark chocolate yesterday BUT no guilt on that one) my energy levels have been high and I have been able to retain what I am studying so much easier :) For the first time in a really long time I am making A's and not eating junk in the process. Now why didn't I do this before?? Live and Learn and now I know :) Also, my son is eating veggies which is another small miracle, so I am flying high this week emoticon
