Shoulder

Wednesday, June 11, 2014

emoticon Saw the doctor, he wants me to have an MRI, before any procedure. The MRI will tell him what kind of operation I would need. Now I have to wait until the referral is approved. I will get a letter and make an appointment. They will give me a disc that I will take to him and then, we will go to the next step. It feels like such a drowned out process, but I guess I just have to have a little patience.
Onward and upward!

I had to go through that same drawn out process in 2010 when I had surgery to repair a torn Rotator Cuff in my right shoulder. I hope your pain won't be so bad while you wait on this lengthy process.

Wishing you blessings,
Brenda

Prayers for a speedy recovering. An MRI will help get the most accurate pictures of the current situation, and thus, worth the wait.

Shoulder

Tuesday, June 03, 2014

Before Christmas, I was having a lot of pain in my left shoulder. It was almost impossible to raise my arm. When I spoke to my doctor, she felt that using the cane was causing the pain. I had a couple of body massage, that didn't help. After the new year, I saw the doctor again, now I could not lift my left arm at all. She said that I had a frozen shoulder and sent me to a specialist. Had some Xrays and they gave me a cordasone shot and set up physicals therapy. I also had a shot given in my shoulder under an xrays and another shot of a saline solution in the shoulder. When I saw the specialist last Friday, she felt I needed to have surgery for a shoulder replacement, It appeared that there was bone rubbing again bone. I am not looking forward to the appointment on June 10th. I will give everyone an update. A few people have commented that they have had the operation and was pleased with the results. I will take all the prayers and best wishes of everyone.

Good luck with your doctor's visit. Prayers for you and your decision. I had a problem with my shoulder and was able to avoid surgery. I fell and it built up scar tissue but able to break down although it was painful. Sorry you're going through this.

Best wishes for you in getting the healing you need. I had frozen shoulder but mine was able to be healed (slowly) with physical therapy. But -- If there is no cartilage then you do need to have surgery.

Out with the old and In with the new!

Saturday, January 18, 2014

2013 was a difficult year in places, I did lose 58 pounds. That is a big plus. I lost my baby sister in ist of Oct. that was a downer. I had to read a book on acceptance. I think that one of the hardest parts of life, is to accept things that we can not change. I know that I can change my weight, my outlook and most of my health problems. That is my goal for the new year. I have a goal to lose 60 pounds, I am having a operation on my foot, so I can exercise better and my largest goal is to wake up each day looking forward to a wonderful day and a healthy future. I must accept what I can not change and change what I can. I want to wish each of you a wonderful, healthy and weight lost year in 2014.
Love you all pitter6 (aka Pat)

Dealing with the death of my sister!

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

My sister, Linda died Monday morning in Illinois. It was a shock, she had gone in for an out patient procedure. She was not able to be released and they wanted to keep her in for 24 hours. Next thing we heard that she was bleeding and going back into surgery. She was brought back into ICU on a ventilator. She next regain conscience and died with in 24 hours. It does not seem possible and I am not allowing myself to turn to food or drink to comfort myself. I am aware that that will not make things better, but it was my first thought. Sorry to leave a depressing blog, but it does help to share it with my spark friends.

25 pounds

Monday, October 15, 2012

As of this AM I am down 25 pounds. It has taken 5 months, but it is working. I have only (good thoughts) 80 more to go. Went to a breakfast yesterday, had to walk a block, I was so out of breath. Next one is in April 2013, I plan to be down another 50 pounds by that time. Ha! Ha! they will not know me. emoticon
