So I've bee thinking of cutting my hair. 90% of my life I've had long hair. I get the urge to cut it once in a while, donate it to Locks of Love. But I've never really gone shorter than shoulder length. Well here is kinda what I'm looking at doing....
So here's the thing. I have THICK, THICK hair and it kinda naturally wavy. Not sure how this cut would pan out. In my head I see it looking afro like lol. My hubs is totally down for this cut because all he's ever seen is long hair. And he is usually seeing it when he unclogs the drain. I kinda have a round face too. Who am I kidding my face it just round, not heart shaped or anything cute like that, just round.
I just need some opinions from some people not afraid to hurt my feelings, and you guys seemed like just the people lol.

Squeezed in a fun run this weekend. Haven't done an actual race since the Spartan so I was due. My sister who lives in Chicago was in town too, so she did it with me. Her first race ever!. She's been running for a while but hasn't done a race, mostly because she didn't want to do it by herself. The race was not times, well not individually timed. They started us off at 8AM sharp and you had 60 minutes to get as much mileage as you could and still make it back before the hour was up. You received raffle tickets at each half mile, so the farther you went the better chance you had at winning a prize. My sister and I went 4 miles total. We thought about going the extra mile but we weren't sure we could make it back in time to put our tickets in for the raffle. We ended up with a pretty good time.
Also when we picked up our packets the doctor who sponsors this race was there and said we received extra high fives if we dressed up like rockers. And we were all, well hell yeah, extra high fives! So we dressed up...
Well apparently we are the only ones who care about extra high fives because we were the only people dressed up. The doctor got super excited, and made sure to high five us everytime he saw us. It was fun though. I won a Starbucks gift card and my sister one free entry into a Dirty Dash race. Unfortunately they don't do those races in Chicago so we ended up switching prizes. So now I have a free entry into a Dirty Dash!! Super extra. There one in September in Billings I believe... road trip!
When my little one saw us in our tutu's she had to wear hers as well, her is a pick I snapped when she was watching the raffle.
My sister had to go home today. Sad face. Hope she finds more races to do. Shouldn't be hard, Chicago should have waaaaay more than little ole Montana.

My first day of scheduled training was yesterday. It was a easy pace 3 mile. In the description it said no pace is too slow for your easy runs. I think I took it a little too seriously. I ran my 3 miles in 37 minutes when just this weekend I did 3 miles in 31. But race pace is different than training pace, so I'm trying no to beat myself up. I don't run again until tomorrow. Another slow, easy 3. Think I might take the poochers for a walk tonight. My hips are a little tight from last nights run. Miss Sally is getting so big and she is hungry ALL. THE. TIME! But she's only 7 months old, she's growing girl.

So there was this Buffalo Jump Run on Sunday. I literally waited until the last minute to sign up. It was suppose to storm and rain all day. And even though I run in the rain on my own, I wasn't too happy about having to PAY to run in the rain. But Sunday I woke up and saw how beautiful it was and decided the hell with it, I'm running. So I got my stuff together to get out to the site and register before the races started. But I couldn't find my phone holder thingy for my arm and there was still a chance it might rain. I didn't want to take the chance of my phone getting ruined because I wanted tunes while I ran. So with a little pout I took off for the site, which is about 15 miles out of town. There were 4 distances to choose from when I got there. 1/2 marathon, 10K, 2 mile, and the brand new 3 mile Pishkun Gauntlet. I did the Gauntlet. For those that don't know what a "pishkun" is, it basically a hill that is flat on top, the indians would chase the buffalo up the hill and then off the cliff, viola, food for like a month. So while all the other runners went on the highway for their run, the gauntlet went up the pishkun. Here is a really bad picture of the pishkun.
Behind the building is where it flattens out.
Here is a web pic from a distance
So up the hill we went. It was a good 20 minutes of up hill too. I though my quads would revolt on me, since we did about a mile and half straight uphill just last weekend. But they managed. Saw 2 snaked, one rattler off to the side and one bull snake that I had to jump over. Reached the finish line with a time of 31.06, a PR!!
Was super happy! Decided to stick around for the award ceremony. It was still pretty nice, though the clouds were rolling in, and the Hubs and kid were not at home so why not. Usually don't hang around for those things, just race and go home. So glad I did. I got 1st in my age group!!!
Got my nifty blue ribbon and an arrowhead! But they could have gave me a handshake and I would have been happy lol.
Now to just start training for my 1/2 marathon in September. Nervous, but it's now or never. Is it weird that 13 miles scared me more than 4.6 obstacle race??
