Surgery Break

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

I have some minor surgery next week. I made a decision a few weeks ago that around this time I would give myself a break and not worry about my weightloss goals. I'm still sticking with my ideal protein protocol, I'm just not weighing in at home or the clinic. I will be off work for three days and will take about three weeks to completely heal. I won't be able to drive or lift things for 1 - 3 weeks.

Sometimes you need to just give yourself a little break. There is only so much stress a person's mind can take. I'm taking this time to have a pause and reflection time.

I hope everyone else is doing great with their goals. If you don't hear much from me it isn't because I've quit my goals or anything. It is just because I'm taking a mental break. My next weigh in will be after Easter and I'll leave it as a complete surprise.

Wedding prep

Monday, March 10, 2014

I mentioned to a friend that my wedding dress is very very tight.
She said "were you wearing your spanx when you tried it on?"
Spanx? I'd never heard of them. Apparently this is magical underwear that I need to get.

emoticon I'll only bother if the dress is still super tight in July.

I took my ring back to the jewellers. It was a different sales lady. She put it on this metal rod and said that the size they had made it was wrong. It isn't that we ordered the wrong size but that the technician re-sizing the ring made it way too small. They made it to be a 4.5, while it should be a 5.5.

I sent it back to be made larger and asked her to make it a 5.75 this time. The size 6 doesn't fall off my finger so I thought just in case they make another mistake I'd be on the larger end of the scale. Last time it took a month to get my ring back so now I wait and see.

Spanx is a wonderful, magical product. Every woman should have at least one item of it in her wardrobe. REALLY. It sounds like you may be on the pre-wedding path that leads to a stress melt-down. There are so many twists and turns in the paths that it's so easy to get turned around and go down there. A suggestion that I have is to rent the movie "Heat" with Sandra Bullock. Watch it with your bridesmaids, do your fingernails and give yourselves pedicures. You will feel so much better and will get an understanding of what Spanx are and do. My wish for you is to enjoy this time in your life. It's special and wonderful and your chance to be Cinderella. That doesn't happen often, take hold and enjoy!

Wedding dress - uh oh

Wednesday, March 05, 2014

My wedding dress arrived yesterday!

It was made just for me based on measurements of myself at my current weight. I thought that was wise because it has a sash to cinch in the waist in case I get to my goal or below.

well... it is tight! I must lose at least another ten pounds or it just won't zip up.
luckily that is my goal anyway and I have until August to do it.

It will help when summer arrives and I can get out and be more active. It is still in the -20C temperatures where I live.

emoticon both my wedding dress and ring are sized for a teenager. what is wrong with me!

emoticon it is OK, this is motivation to lose and maintain

The waist is perfect, my trouble spot is the boobies.

I tried it on again last night without a bra and concluded that if I had someone to help me , we could get it to zip up. I'm still headed to my goal of 125lbs. It will fit perfect then.

You can do it!

If it is tight around the waist, I am wondering if calcium from dairy or green tea or things like that, which have studies that say they contribute to "waist loss" might help.

Ring re-sizing

Monday, March 03, 2014

My engagement ring was so big that it fell off my hand in January. I had it sized and sent in to be made smaller. I just got it back and now it is too small!!! They must have written down the wrong size. I remember that the sizing thing fit perfect.

I have decided to wait until I reach my goal weight then I'll try it on again. I imagine myself sending it back to be made bigger, then returning to have it made smaller again in a few months.

20 weeks on ideal protein - some stats

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

My home scale says 138 lbs!!!! The clinic scale is always 2 lbs more than my home scale.
I don't ever want to see my weight start with 14# again. I can live with 13#, but don't want to get up to or above the 140s again.

My average weight loss has been 1.85 pounds a week.
I never gained during the past 20 weeks, however one week I didn't lose.

My waist is at 30 inches and has been so for at least a month.

I have lost weight several times and not lost inches.

I expect to get to my goal weight in May. I'm taking a few weeks off the diet in March to go on a trip to Scottsdale AZ. The food is too good in Scottsdale to stick to IP while there. I'll pick up the pieces when I get back home.
