Mini Vacation

Friday, July 05, 2013

This weekend, I am on a short vacation with the family. Eating out is always a trigger for me and the portions are huge. So, I have made a commitment to eat reasonably and avoid the high fat foods. Had a delicious healthy salad for lunch. So only three more meals to do before I get to the in-laws, where the food is safe item. Sometimes a few too many snacks around, but I brought some of my own, so think I should be good to go.
Woohoo for WiFi in hotels as I can track my food as I go along through the weekend. There is lots of walking here which a good way to get some good exercise in and I plan on swimming too. For me, planning it out and writing it down will get me through a fun weekend while maintaining my food plan.
I am so grateful for the focus and freedom of not overeating or thinking about food all the time, a gift from God.

My Top Ten

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

I have made a list of the top tan reasons I need to get healthy and lose weight.

1. I want my body to be a better temple for God.
2. I want to grow old with Russell.
3. I want to watch our daughter grow up and be more active with her.
4. I want to be able to sit down wherever and not worry if I will fit.
5. I will get my cardiologist off my back.
6. I will be in better health.
7. I will be able to be more active in my life.
8. I will help my heart, my knees and my back.
9. I will have better self esteem of myself.
10. I will be able to ride a roller coaster.

I want to live a more active life and already I am seeing benefits from not eating sugar, not overeating and getting in exercise most days. "Nothing tastes as good as abstinence feels."

I need to remind myself only to look at today as that is all I have and if I keep focused, I will see more successes as I look back on this journey. Sometimes that is easier said then done, and for me that is a good reminder.

I am not on this journey alone, I have God, my family and SP community to support me. I am so grateful for the support.

Break the Chain

Thursday, June 20, 2013

There is a video on you tube that the topic pertains to women standing up and protecting their bodies from abuse. The song is powerful and full of beautiful women celebrating their bodies. I am using the song to help me in my journey.

Some of the words from Break the Chain are:

My body is holy
No more excuses
No more abuses
We are beautiful creatures
Break the chain

I have abused my body by using food. I will not use food as an excuse to celebrate, to hide my emotions or to overeat. No more and the neat thing is that I only have to do it for today.

Have a wonderful day.

My Summer Goal

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

In one short week of eating healthy, tracking my food and staying away from sugar, I feel:
1. I have more energy
2. My mind is clearer
3. I am not obsessed by food
4. And I just feel wonderful.

I want to stay focused and use SP to the max to continue this journey. One of my mini goals is to get back to one size smaller in my pant size. In May, I had to buy a larger size in pants which I thought I would not go in that direction again. I choose not to beat myself up about that, but to start over and take it day by day or even moment by moment to stay on plan.
I could not do this without God, a loving husband and SP.

I am thankful

Monday, June 17, 2013

Today I am most thankful for my loving husband who is an awesome dad for our daughter. I am feeling happier in my emotions and smiling more, think it is directly related to my clean eating and exercise.
Thank you God. emoticon
