Pre-thinking works!

Last night I went to Red Lobster for dinner. I checked out their website before I left home. I checked out the calories/carbs/fats of their foods. I made good choices and I am not up at all this morning...in spite of how much salt their probably was in the meal. Pre-thinking WORKS!

Today, I am going to eat "on-plan" all day. I've already had breakfast consisting of crude bran, long cook oats, rhubarb and blueberries. Home made roasted tomato soup with brocolli for lunch. Chicken breast with low fat yogurt, spinach and asparagus for supper. Snack will be 1/2 apple with 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds and .5 tablespoon coconut oil. So, that's my "pre-thinking" for today.

This is day 1 of a 7 day commitment to myself.

    If I don't make a weekly menu, I'm lost! Even though I have a full pantry and freezer. I know how to cook but I have to have a well thought out plan. Though I only do it for dinner. Breakfast is a fresh fruit-veggie juice everyday, sometimes a smoothie, and has been for over 18 months. We love using coconut oil!

    I, too, am a planner, I just do for home cooking. I so rarely eat out, and planning ensures that I know exactly what I am making, how long it will take, and have all the ingredients on hand and ready. Planning gives us comfort about what comes next, something not usually found in life.

Why company?

Why is it that when I have company over for supper, I usually overeat. I just logged my food for the day....OMG I so ate waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.

I have to go back to "pre-thinking" what I'm going to eat...it's the only way for me to win.

  Next time think good choice, think what are you planning to cook. Probably less carbs more veggies and lean protein. Before the guests arrive indulge with a small snack with a cup of tea or coffee. emoticon

Well, I must blog today about the value of SP points. I reached a point where I didn't think points were worth spending the time getting b/c the action of getting them didn't help me burn off calories nor cook did it put healthy food choices on my table....so I stopped getting them.

Oh boy, I was wrong! There IS BIG connection between points and maintaining a healthy weight!!! There is a DIRECT connection. I started logging my food, water, exercise and getting points and those few extra pounds that had crept on, are now creeping away!!!!

I'm going to continue earning points and maintaining my goal weight because it works!!

    I find that tracking food, exercise, water, weight on Spark help me stay focused on staying healthy. It is a daily reflection of where I am at in my journey.

I am doing fine. I am working on a couple of up pounds, but feeling positive and trying new recipes.

Never ever ever EVER give up. Goals are attainable if we are willing to work towards them. Problems are answerable if we are willing to look for answers and seek help. Onward I go, working toward my goal of NEVER BEING OBESE AGAIN in my lifetime!!!
