Gosh, my SP friends must think me a hypochondriac for the number of times this winter I've posted that I'm sick!!!! I'm really NOT! Really! I seem to get better for a brief time and then get dreadfully sick again!!!

But I haven't given up hope of getting better, just like I'm still working on maintaining my weight. The key is to never give up!

    I just went back to work today after calling in sick last Thursday and Friday. We are lucky our immune systems can fight the little buggers(germs) off!!!

20 Weeks of Maintenance???

My ticker says I have 20 weeks of maintenance in. Hmmmmm, expectations can get me in trouble. I expected maintenance to be easy. Just don't overeat..right! I expected I wouldn't have to work hard...just maintain.

Nothing could have been farther from the truth. I have struggled for every single one of those 20 weeks. I'm UP...gotta get down again. I'm down...oops I'm up again...gotta get down again. I'm down...oops I'm up again...gotta get down AGAIN!!!

WOW! I'm willing to work, but I seriously hope things get easier as time goes along. They talk about a 5 lb weight variation. Ok, I'm good with 5 lbs...I just need the 5 lbs to be 5 lbs lower than I am now.

Ok...onward I go...there's work to be done.

So the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results!!!! WOW, now there's a shot between my eyes!

In searching for a different way, I just found a SP article called Mind Over Body. The first part talks about putting the "I" in weight loss. Well, it made so much sense and is very very different than I have been thinking. In the upcoming week, I'll be putting the "I" in my weight loss.

    I'm the same way. My weight keeps going up and down within the 5lbs. But it definitely it hard to keep it going!!!

    Thanks for sharing! This is a lifestyle. Anyone who has ever struggled with weight knows that maintaining is MUCH harder than losing weight! Keep searching for ways to tweak your plan so that it works. Read everything you can about maintenance. Members of the maintenance team have some great advice but still, no one has the perfect answer. You can do this...keep working at it. Remember that what works this week may not work next week, but it should get easier. At least that's what they tell me. I like to look back at my trends as recorded on my nutrition notes and Sparkpage weighins. It gives me the whole pic rather than just this week or month. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Maintenance isn't easy, but it does get better. As new habits are formed you don' t have to "think" about it as much. Can you ever "not think" about the choices you are making, NO. This is a lifestyle change and that takes time.

Hang in there. You and your body will figure it out. Besides, you have lots of people in your corner!!

I found a wonderful article on SP called "Mind Over Body". This evening I'm going to read it all and make a plan and some goals.

Because, I WILL win over this food addiction thing. I WILL win b/c I am willing to work, try this, try that, pick myself up when I fall down, and try again.

    You can do it! I am doing the same, as you read in my healing blog. I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep on going! sometimes it's a turtles pace, but still going forward and that's what counts in the long run.

It's Friday

Today is Friday. Last night I figured out what has been and is making me so sick. Now, as soon as I get better, I can avoid it and hopefully be healthy.

Oh my goodness I'm sick again. So with burning lungs I write this (b/c I've had time laying around to think!!!)

Yep, tools are good.
Yep, I need support.
Yep, I need an eating plan.
But irregardless of those things, if I am to succeed with my goals, it is up to me.

    Yes it is! I've been on a journey to wellness with Spark people and to be honest, I don't think I'd feel this well had I not found this site.
