WINNER!!!

Thursday, November 22, 2012

Oh oh oh! I just have to share the joy I feel this morning and this is why. We went to a church turkey supper last night and invited 9 guests. I said "no" to: apple juice, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, fresh buttered white Italian bread, and dessert. The coleslaw, white-meat turkey, homemade cranberry sauce and squash were fabulous!!! I had healthy portions and made healthy choices and this morning I was rewarded with the scales remaining the same. Yay!

I know the feeling, it has taken me 2 months and I finally lost another pound. But thru all that my clothes have fit better and I can move a lot better. The scale can really mess with our heads so I would find other means to show how great you have been doing.

I love the quiz about holiday food. I learned so much about the choices we make - we can eat well, and healthy at the same time.

Sparkpeople is a life saver. My family thinks food equals love, and I printed out a recent article on how to say "no" without hurting feelings.

Monday Marching

Monday, November 19, 2012

It's Monday and I'm marching (and running on the spot) my way to lose that last pound to be at goal. It won't happen today, it probably won't happen tomorrow, and it may not happen Wednesday, but it WILL happen! It will happen because I WANT IT, AND AM WILLING TO WORK TOWARDS IT!

So, cheers to a fabulous Marching Monday.

Subtle changes...

Sunday, November 18, 2012

We always have a lovely fellowship hour after church on Sunday with people bringing all sorts of yummy home baking to share. I've been saying "no" to them b/c I'm trying to reach my goal, but something strange happened today. I said "no" again, but didn't feel deprived! I just felt grateful, happy and content.

That's HUGE progress. That kind of progress is greater than a pound lost.

That is great progress. We too have a fellowship time after church and do a brunch - taking turns to bring whatever. Today they had 2 soups and lots of muffins, doughnuts, chips and such. I have no problem skipping most of the time. I did snitch one of the mini pretzels with the melted Rollo on top - even tastier than the ones with kisses on top - but TINY (a serving on mini pretzels is 16-20 depending on which kind you choose and the Rollos are about 25 calories each - so NOT a bad LITTLE treat).

Congrats! We have a coffee hour after Church as well and I say no to most of the items. I have a gluten intolerance so it is easier for me to say no and no one gets upset that I didn't eat what they brought. I bring my own snack and then I eat with everyone. I am glad that you did not feel deprived.
