In 20 days, we move to San Diego. We're going to live next door to my mom, who is one of my best friends. Whee!
Once we get there, there will be challenges in the eating/exercise departments. But me? I have a plan for each one!
CHALLENGE: Mom loves to feed us, and her foods are often not the stuff we want to be eating.
PLAN: We have already told mom that we will be having dinner at her place one day a week, and other than that, we'll be cooking for ourselves.
CHALLENGE: Mom's neighborhood isn't very walkable...
PLAN: ...but within a short drive, there are plenty of places to walk, and besides, we're taking the Bowflex and mom has a stationary bike for us to use. We also have exercise DVDs and SparkPeople on YouTube.
CHALLENGE: Stress will be high, so reaching for junk will be easier than cooking.
PLAN: The plan here is, well, planning! I will keep planning my meals a week in advance. I am much more likely to eat well if I make it easy on myself.
