Through storms, Sister visit, and Totalled Car!

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Hi Friends, It has been a while since I have been on SP. We made it through stormy weather and hope you all did too. My sister was here for 2 and half weeks and she made it back just before the next Noreaster' hit again.
Saturday night, within sight of our mailbox, our new car was totalled by a ten point buck.
DH was fine and he was driving but I gasped when I saw the deer running into us and tensed up. Not hurt real bad but have some sore places. The deer is now in our freezer and our car towed away.

I am sorry that the deer hit your car...... However at least you got sometime to eat out of it, lol.

God will heal you, and your insurance will pay you...right?

Oh Sherry! I'm so glad to read that you and Gary are both okay, but I am so sorry that your new car was totaled. Our son hit an 8 point buck about 12 years ago, and totally did his car in as well. Well, you should have some good venison to help get you through the winter. I'm so glad you're OK!

I'm glad that you made it through the storm. I know how you feel about the deer hitting the car. The same thing happened to me several years ago. It was a doe running into the side of my car. Car was totaled. Just glad everyone was ok.

Safe Through the Storm!

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

It stormed last night, through the night, and still stormy weather today. This morning at 7am we woke up to a bigggggg crack of thunder ( we thought). There was torrential rain off and on through these storms. My Mom came over around 10 this morning and I went out to meet her. There just off our driveway was a tree split by lightening and it had thrown pieces of bark out in the driveway and near our home.
That was what woke us at 7 am. DH said it made boards out of the tree lol Plus another big tree was blown down farther back in our woods. Thank God for our safety through the storms.

Soup Is ON!

Sunday, September 23, 2012

emoticon Potato soup was on the woodstove waiting for a late supper. We are still working on the float for the Persimmon Festival. We wouldn't be working on a Sunday night but the parade is approaching tooooo fast and our fingers are working so slowwww.
We enjoyed a baptism today at a local quarry after church. It was beautiful-the air was a little crisp and the water pretty chilly but couple had come up from Florida to be with parents and declare their faith in Jesus by being baptised. Their parents had been praying for so long and asking the church to pray for their children. Was beautiful to be there to see prayers answered.

How awesome about the baptism. We had a young woman accept Christ as her savior during our Church's second service on Sunday. You just know there was "rejoicing in Heaven". I love baptisms and can't wait.

Hugs, Sunny

Cooler Temps and Soup Will Soon Be On!

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

I read so many blogs tonight with SP friends giving soup receipes. Yum! They all sounded so good. DH started the woodstove this evening and if it stays cool tomorrow will start a soup.
Great for this busy time of the year. Still working on float for Persimmon Parade next week! Plus fall gardening chores. Fall brings extra exercise without even thinking about it!

Love it all about fall - cooler weather, soups and stews, crisp, clean air, blue sky, leaves changing . . .
