Earn Points for Rereading Articles + New Stay on Track Calendar

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Hi everyone!
We thought you'd be interested in these two new features!

Reset SparkPoints on Articles You've Read

Some of our "super SparkPoints earners" (you know who you are!) have been running out of articles to earn SparkPoints for lately. We hear you! So, in an effort to let our loyal members continue to earn their daily allotment of SparkPoints for reading articles, you can now reset the articles you’ve read more than 6 months ago—so that you can earn Points by rereading them! To reset your article SparkPoints:

Click on the Account/Email Preferences link on your Start page (under the My Tools tab). Scroll down to the section titled "Reset Articles" and click the "Reset Articles" button and voila! You can now read the articles again and get more Points. Resetting your articles will keep the SparkPoints you earn for previously reading articles. You will lose the next to any articles in the Resource Center that have been reset.

PLEASE NOTE that this will only allow you to re-read articles you read more than 6 months ago; articles you have read less than six months ago will not be reset. Also noteworthy, you must be a member of SparkPeople for at least 6 months for the Reset Articles section to show up on your account preferences page.

New Stay On Track Calendar
We've also added a monthly Stay On Track Calendar to the site, which gives you an easy-to-read, monthly view of what's coming up in your program (scheduled workouts and appointments) and what you've tracked (food, workouts, notes and earned SparkPoints) each day. This calendar is interactive and printable, too!. To see your Stay on Track Calendar, go to the Reports section (under the "My Tools" tab). Scroll down to the "Weight and Other Reports" section to find your Stay on Track Calendar.

We hope you enjoy these new SparkPeople features!

The calendar is just great, and so is re-setting the articles. I've though about suggesting the latter a few times, because if I read an article again there's usually stuff I either forgot or allowed to slid to the back of my mind. I just don't know where to post suggestions.

Thanks ever for these features. I admire how you manage to still find things to improve on a site as fantastic as this one!

You have made some really great changes to the Spark site since I have been using it. I especially like the updates to the weigh & measure section. It helps me to see where I started measuring and where I am today. I could keep track of the weight but the inches were getting lost. Thanks for the upgrades! Keep on doing what you do to help us all out. You are appreciated in BIG bunches. :~) *S*

Monday, June 15, 2009

Late last week we launched an enhancement to our Friend Feed feature. Now, when your friends set their status or reach a goal you can leave a comment, and your friend can reply with another comment. You can also receive an email notification when a friend leaves a comment on your Feed.

We hope you like this feature! Please drop a comment in this topic on our Site/Technical Help Forum if you have any questions!

Save These Dates: 2 More SparkPeople Events Coming in 2009

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Upcoming SparkPeople Convention + Special SparkGuy Appearance!

In May, we held our first-ever SparkPeople Convention in San Diego, California. You asked for us to bring these events closer to you, so we're happy to announce that we will be holding 2 more exciting events in 2009.

The next “Spark Your Life” Convention will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio—the hometown of SparkPeople—on September 26, 2009! Registration for this event has not opened yet, but you can learn more about the daylong event here and even join our official "Spark Your Life" Convention—Cincinnati SparkTeam if you're interested in attending.

In addition, you can be one of the first to hear Chris “SparkGuy” Downie, CEO and founder of SparkPeople.com, share details about his forthcoming book The Spark on November 22, 2009, in Tampa, Florida. He'll be making a special appearance in a speaker series at the “I Can Do It” Conference, created and put on by Hay House, the publisher of many inspirational books, including The Spark.

Mark your calendar today if you'd like to join us for one or both of these exciting events! We will provide further details on the events—including prices and registration details—very soon! We look forward to seeing you there!

I'd love to spread the Spark, too!

But the window cling isn't going to show through my tinted windows.

Can we please get bumper stickers that look like the clings? emoticon

Is anyone else interested in bumper stickers? emoticon

Suggestion look into a supplier who would partner with you, possibly only paying out advertisement fee only when purchases are made through your web site.

I love Spark store, only problem I have is shipping costs. I live in Ireland.
Why not try to get cardio equipment in the store? Treadmills, stationary bicycles etc. As a PT I am constantly on the lookout for affordable items. Look for a large supplier who may offer us a discount. I for one would subscribe.

it is nice but I think it is good idea to have SP logo on the back. Picture this. I walk and someone look at my chest. He or she just try to read the logo, but I am not comfortable with look. The logo on the back is different. I know that I like to spared SP web. This is why did I pay the T-shirt. I would take a running machine in front row, and everyone will see my logo.

I have sent emails to the local stations, I have sent the SP flyer as well. There seems to be no interest from them. I wish I knew what else to do. The local tv stations talk about WW, JC and other programs but seem unwilling to mention SP. I don't know if there is a kickback from WW and JC or what it is.
