Goals

Sunday, July 21, 2013

My short term goals at this time are to remain on track with my eating and exercising.
T0 stay focused on what I am doing. To lose at least 8 pounds in August.

To lose 24 lbs. in the next 3 months.

To get into the 100's.

Long term goal is to lose to my goal weight of 145. When I get there I will reevaluate whether I need to go further or stop there.

My biggest goal is to remain healthy and not have another stroke even a small one like I had in 2008. I plan to be around at least to my 90's and see at least one of my great great grandchildren.

Drink Your Water Every Day

Saturday, July 20, 2013

I was never a water drinker, but now I drink 4 20 oz. bottles of water every day. I still am able to enjoy decaf unsweetened coffee and green tea, v8 juice and milk as well.

Drinking water not only does all that the coaches tell us it does, it also helps me to flush the excess fluids out of my system that cause me to swell up even though my Dr. has me on fluid pills.

Come on and join me. If I can do it so can all of you!

Stop the Excuses Not to Exercise

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

I believe that I am probably the professional excuse maker to get out of exercise that I have ever met. But I want to tell you that has not held me back!

I am 69 years old and I am proud to say that I exercise 6 days a week. I take Sunday off, but I still manage to get in 20 min. of walking that day.

I try to switch up my routine to keep it interesting. Most days I use Leslie Sansone walking videos/dvds for my main option along with my Spark People dvds. I just started doing 40 push ups every other day. And I switch around on my treadmill, exercise bike, cardioglyder and my gazelle. I also walk outside when it is not hot and humid. My asthma kicks up if it's humid. I do cardio/strength training and stretching exercises.

One of my best excuses is "But my fibromyalgia, arthritis, etc. is hurting. When that happens I pull out my less strenuous exercises and workout anyway. I find that when I do that I am not in near as much pain. Amazing???

Let's put away our excuses and get moving!!!

Spark Solution Challenge #2

Sunday, June 30, 2013

Here we are on day 7 already, the last day of the first week. It is indeed my rest day from exercises. This challenge has been so good! If you haven't tried it you must get the book and get started!

I try to use condiments with the least calories if any. I love Mrs. Dash Marianades, Mustard, garlic, fresh spices, Splenda, light dressings, etc.

Any time that I see sugar as an ingredient, I try to use either Splenda, or Brown Sugar with Splenda. If it calls for honey, I use artificial honey whenever possible. There are many, many things that I like to change out, more than I can come up with right now.

Today instead of exercising, I have spent more time looking over my SP Cookbook, Spark People book and the Spark Solution program itself again. I want to be in the right frame of mind to start week two so that I can stay on program.

I am feeling terrific. I have much more energy that I have had in a long time! There have been no cravings. I even survived our church picnic yesterday, which was my biggest challenge, without going off program even once! I did this by taking my own meal from our menu with me. By the time that I ate all of it, I didn't want anything else.

Yes, I am moving more and I am enjoying my exercises. Oh, there are still some things that I cannot do due to my weight, but I know that I will be able to do them after I have lost a few pounds.

I have done my shopping for this week and I am ready to begin! My daughter and husband are coming in from TX (they are moving to Savannah, GA Wed. night. We will be eating at Cracker Barrel and I already know what I will be eating that night. The next morning they want to eat at Hardees so they can get on the road and I have already planned what I will take with me for my breakfast so that I can stay on program then as well.

My goal this week is to stay on program 100%, drink my 10 Cups of water, and to lose another 2 lbs.

They need you on the cover of the next book they write. You do such a good job of adhering to the principles and also letting us know how the plan is working. emoticon

My Acheivements

Sunday, June 23, 2013

1. I have lost a total of 41 lbs. as of yesterday. This includes the 25 lbs. that I have lost since starting Spark Solutions. I am working toward my next goal of 229 lbs. I am planning on losing about 1-2 lbs. a week. This should be doable for me.

2. At my husband's request, I am reporting on the recent Flax Seed Blueberry Muffins that I made. They were delicious!!! I am loving trying the new recipes on SP.

3. I am so glad that I got the free three months of Spark Coach and the exercise DVD's when I bought the Spark Solution Book. Spark Coach has truly helped me to stay focused on plan and the DVD's are awesome too. emoticon
