Be Grateful

Thursday, November 14, 2013

I am grateful to have my family, and friends and each of you in my life. I also am grateful that I have been able to lose some weight, become healthier for myself and family, and physically overcome an injury! emoticon emoticon

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Thanks for your comment on my blog!

Wait Weight!

Wednesday, November 06, 2013

Ok so I officially got on the scales today. And what I wanted to scream was "Wait weight". But I can only blame myself. I have gained 9 pounds since the accident. That's enough I say! If I feel good enough to eat like that, then I should feel good enough to walk/work it off. So tonight I am going to get back on that tread mill and begin again. I am upset with myself but healing was important (and obviously at the time so was the comfort food). I hope it won't be long before my blog title can be What Weight. . . but now It's ON!!!!

Don't be too hard on yourself, as we do have to eat to heal. I gained after my appendix surgery too. At first I lost a lot, found out most of that was infection and the appendix itself-but then I gained a bunch back. We do have to have extra nutrients to heal though and time to heal. Your body was severely compromised during your accident. You will get it back and you have a great attitude. You know what to do it and you will. Can't wait for the What Weight blog. emoticon

I know what you mean . I stopped sparking in late August and Sept. due to a Heat Stoke and gained 10 pounds - yikes - so lets work together the main thing is that were Ok and healthy . Stressing over it will not help in the right direction - Enjoy the treadmill . Last year in the Winter - I created a game on the treadmill - I walked to different towns Virtually and would research those towns and blog about it for each destination that I arrived. Keep me accountable - I am think of doing that again - Hugs K emoticon Thanks for stopping by - I just returned from the night shift I work a swing shift !! emoticon

I'm back ( I hope)

Friday, November 01, 2013

Hello all. It has been a long time since I have entered a blog. IT has been a hard few months. My DH and I were in a pretty bad 4-wheeler wreck back in August and I just haven't been able to get and keep myself on track since. I have actually put on some weight( emoticon), and am not proud of this at all. Yet, I haven't done anything about it yet. Hopefully November will be my month to start back at it hard. Thank you for all your support.

I'm not surprised you gained weight after such a horrible experience. I think 99% of people would. You needed some comfort at a time like that. Once you're back to being yourself, you can get back on track the way you were before. In the meantime, try to cut back a little. Exercise is usually good for de-stressing. Best to you!

Life

Monday, September 09, 2013

First of all I want to say that I have missed all of my Spark friends! Recently I was involved in an ATV accident which caused my husband and I to be hospitalized for awhile. I am not wanting or meaning for this blog to be a downer, I just thought I would explain why I have not been around. We are healing and I now am back to work (full time). I am still very sore but that is to be expected with 8 broken ribs and a broken collar bone. Honestly I am healing quite well and am blessed that the accident did not injure me or my husband any worse than it did. My DH required surgery; however, is home now and on the road to recovery as well.

I have not been logging my intake; however, I have been able to continue to drop some pounds. I did measure on the 1st and can proudly state that I am down 21 1/4 inches since I began this journey.

Emotionally I have been on a roller coaster over the last three weeks (accident incidentally was 8-17) as I was driving the 4-wheeler that my DH and I were riding. I know it was an accident but to know my honey is hurting as bad as he is makes me feel so terrible (although he assures me he definitely does NOT blame me). Please just keep us in your prayers. As a couple we have weathered many things and we will heal from this as well.

I really miss wogging and can't wait to actually be able to get back on that treadmill. Until then I will continue to do what I can and to heal as quickly as possible. Thank you friends!!!

First off so glad you are both on the mend from what sounds like a bad accident. Breathe and forgive yourself.. terrible things happen to good people.. Accidents are just that and Atv's are moving vehicles without all the protection.. you cant always see the bump in the leaves ..

One day at a time .. all things are possible...

hugs and healing !!

I am so sorry about your accident. We have atv's also and things can get away from you pretty quickly. I am glad that you were not hurt worse than you were. What a blessing. You will get back to your journey here, somethings take time. I know, I just came back from an appendicitis. It took me a while to get back to logging and everything. We have to heal first and then do the rest. You take care. I am so glad that you let us know what was going on, I had feared you just took an extended break. A few of my friends have done that. I'll be praying for you and your DH.
