I took the day off from exercise yesterday. I started the day with good intentions, well, ......

It was the day my Granny passed away 17 years ago from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, I had her on my mind and my mom, called my mom, had a nice chat, even though I found out she is having a health problem. Test results should be in a couple of days.
Then found out that the "powers that be" have lost all common sense and an issue that is very important for my family and many others is up for debate and a new vote...I hope these ppl will not be shortsighted and do the wrong thing- yes my opinion but it counts for something! I had to write a long letter to the person who has always helped in this matter. I am trying not to worry about the outcome- holding out hope that it will be resolved in the best interest of all the children.

on the other hand~ I did receive some great news concerning my youngest son! and some great news concerning my middle son, so there were some positives =)

Today I will exercise
I will try not to worry what the future holds with this upcoming vote
I will make the phone calls DH asked me to make
I will have a successful day!

"focus on the blessings and not the negative"
Even I have troble with that one.

But I say it anyway. I even wright it down so
I can look at it.

I once had 250 things to wright.
with all that who can be down with that?

    Hey Tea,

Finally getting back into the swing of things myself and thought I would touch base with your blog. I lost my dad to Bladder Cancer and his birthday was May 23. I was really down in the dumps and couldn't pull myself out of it. I called my step mom and made myself go to the gym.. My heart wasn't in it, but the exercise sure helped. Needless to say, I was touched by your blog. I know how difficult it is to lose someone close to you and even with time it still has a significant impact. Hand in there. Playing the up and down scale number game

is that really a game afterall? For me it is b/c I weigh myself daily.
I always gain weight when I am lifting weights. I may have lost inches but it's not measuring time yet. I love seeing muscle definition, and knowing that I am strong enough not to ask my husband to open this that or the other unless I just want him to feel like he is my hero =)

It's just this number on the scale, it drives me insane!!!!

I also have to admit that on those days when I am feeling a little under the weather from my allergies I tend to snack more and not on the healthy stuff.
I have been trying harder to pay attention to my mindless snacking.

Staying positive, Staying focused and hoping to see a change....

    Keep in mind you may be gaining a few pounds here or there, but as long as your eating healthy..the weight gain is a healthy weight gain. At least that is what I tell myself to keep me from going insane over the scale!

    I know it can be annoying...thats why I dont own a scale. I measured several times a day for a while once, I had a daily 10 pound fluctuation! Luckily thats when I didnt care about my weight and was just curious.
Its great that you are getting strong and seeing muscle definition...what kind of weight programs are you doing? Anything you might recommend? My arms are starting to get a workout as my baby gains weight but i'd like to add a little more to it then that =)

    Hello--I saw your blog while skimming the recent entries. Your muscles will retain water, too, after a good weight workout, so you may find the scale going up the following day. I know it's frustrating to see the numbers go up, even it is just water weight!

Feeling good about last week and taking that momentum into this week =)

I'm not going to worry so much about the number on the scale...I never lose weight while lifting weights. I'm going to keep an eye on measurements.

    Good plan for the new week, Tea Lady! I like your idea about not focusing on the scale number. It does get stuck there now and then when lifting weights, but it's well worth it in the end!

Monday~ new week, new goals

My weight is up, and my spirits tend to go down.

Still gonna fight for it.

goals this week-

lift weights 4 days

instead of focusing on the time I spend doing cardio I am focusing on doing 1 mile on the elliptical and treadmill each day. I'll also be riding my bike. regardless, 30 mins of cardio everyday, no excuses!

snack on fruit or herbal tea

    Even if you don't do your full work out just get in some of it and you will feel much better. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
