I am half done tracking swimming 3 x a week for 30 minutes and eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

It sounds easy but the veggies and fruits are hard to fit on the small space I have to write in. Tonight I will eat 2 cups of red cabbage. I make sweet and sour cabbage using olive oil, stevia and vinegar. It is so delicious. Will eat this with baked pork loin. A very healthy and tasty dinner.

I am feeling better but my back and generalized aches are not gone by any means. I will definitely need my cane when I go back to work so I don't have another spill which would not be a good thing.

Swimming three times a week is helping, also.

    Sweet and sour cabbage is one of my favorites.
Just do the best you can and take your cane
for safety's sake.

    I remember my grandparents using Epsom salts and ice packs and heating pads when I was a kid. Now that I'm older, yet no more graceful, I oft times look forward to a soak in a good Epson salt bath followed by heat and/or ice. Does this mean I've become my grandparents?

On Saturday, the 19th, I had a fall onto sidewalk after mowing...

I don't know if I fell due to tripping on the hose or dizziness but I did fall and got a bruise on right upper arm and lower spine. I also have pain in the left arm that is worst at the elbow and radiates up and down from there. X-ray of elbow showed no fracture, but x-rays of spine and neck showed severe degenerative arthritis at all levels which apparently has gotten worse over the last few years.

I can't get in to see the spine specialist for 2 weeks and the same for PT.

My primary care doctor wants to see me Friday to discuss several issues, including hypothyroidism, prediabetes and the spine problems. I don't know what can be done but my overall pain level is not good and I am using a cane to help me up and down from a chair and also to keep my balance when walking. In addition, I have a severe headache.

I was hoping to go back to work tomorrow but I do not feel well enough and since my primary doctor gave me an appointment for 9:00 a.m. on Friday, I will not go in then either. emoticon

Drank 3 cups of water and 1 cup of pomegranate juice quite quickly.

So glad I mowed on Friday and Saturday. The air temp is only 84 but the humidity is extremely high. I am glad I have air conditioning at home and at work.

With the humidity so high I still have to wear lightweight blouses at work, preferably cotton.

Since I live in Minnesota we are used to these hot humid summers but this is the first really hot weather this year. On Monday and Tuesday the forecast is over 90, also with 80% or more humidity.

It IS better than 26 below with a wind making it 50 below or more.

I swam Thursday and Friday and plan to go today, also.

I also stayed within my calorie range and my only regret was the brie and cracker I had as a bedtime snack. I need to choose a lower calorie bedtime snack tonight. Perhaps a bag of high protein chips or a glass of almond milk.

Just as I got out of the car, there was a downpour.
