Falling 2 x last week, vertigo this a.m & lichen planus

Saturday, December 06, 2014

Lordy, Lordy. What next, dear God?

Two new diagnoses in 2 weeks. I hope the vertigo improves as I had it in bed when turning over and thought the bed was tipping and I was falling out of bed. This is the worst vertigo I have ever had.

This past week saw ENT and internist for oral lichen planus and possible same condition on legs. Was given Rx for mouth and referred to dermatologist for skin condition.
As far as I know, none of this is contagious and the lichen planus is an autoimmune condition.

Can't see dermatologist until Dec 22nd and am hoping to get top notch care from a highly recommended specialist who is about 25 miles from home.

If the vertigo continues I will have to see ENT or internist again.

I plan to swim today and will wear ear plugs so I don't aggravate my ears. I need to get some exercise for stress management as I have been quite sedentary for the past several months.

Before getting up and out of bed, turn your head to the side and then to the other side....it may help your vertigo. Never get up quickly or when you do stand for a second or two before moving with something near to hold on to.

As for the oral lichen planus start flossing and brush your teeth at least 2 times a day. Go to the dentist and get your teeth cleaned, you may be harboring bacteria.

Alcohol, tobacco and caffeine may worsen your symptoms....also spicy and acidic foods wont help you.....check with your doctor about what not to eat.

I can't believe I tripped and fell twice, then next day smashed shin on trailer hitch...

Saturday, November 29, 2014

I had a bad fall and had trouble getting up. I tripped over a rolled up rug while carrying a metal basket of laundry. Scraped elbow, bumped chest and twisted left knee(knee replacement). Later in the day I fell on that basket again (on other side of the room but had a softer fall. Then next day ran shin of other leg into trailer hitch of SUV and have a bruise on that leg, too.

Klutzarama!

Will get checked out at orthopedic clinic if pain continues just to be sure I did not break anything.

Oh my. So sad about the booboos. I've been a booboo magnet most of my life. I'm currently try to learn how to go around corners and not through them. =)

I'm praying you aren't seriously injured. If this kind of stuff in not common for you then you may still want to make not of it for your next appointment. I could be a balance issue. (sorry it's the mom in me =)

be blessed.

I recently saw my orthopedic surgeon for back pain, I was advised to take Aleve for 9 days and 9 days only...one in the morning and 1 at night...and to drink three cups if green tea daily for those 9 days to get rid of the inflammation. I had a compressed vertebrae which was very painful. Neck ache, back ache, headache, even my knees ached. The most common places where the inflammation occurs are feet, ankles, under eyes and fingertips. You might want to call your doctor.

Many diabetics get neuropathy,,,,diseases of blood vessels, caused by diabetes that prevent the flow of blood to a part of the nerve. Common causes of neuropathy involve traumatic pressure on nerves. Please call the doctor.

Down another lb today! Yeaaaaay!

Sunday, October 19, 2014

237...down 13 lb since July. I am eating more protein and fewer carbs (when I don't succumb to occasional cookie).

Having my annual physical this Friday. My doctor should be happy on the weight loss.

Having a bit of a problem with glucose readings, however.

Need to cut out the cookies and replace with healthy snacks like nuts, fruit, more non-starchy veggies.
