Days 25 and 26 of 40/40 Challenge: Coming Out of Zombieland...Finally!

I can't believe how much that 24 hours of no sleep impacted me! I was totally out of whack and my regular routines, totally out of sync. I didn't get on the computer. I didn't log any food. And I didn't workout. I was seriously like a zombie! And after I got home from working, I could only sleep for about 4 hours because I had to go to church for a rehearsal. It was just go go go...

After rehearsal, I could have worked out.... I guess. BUT, my body and MY MIND were calling for something else...



So, I used just good old fashioned WISDOM and gave my body what it REALLY needed for optimal health and that, my friends, was SLEEP...not exercise.

So, there was no exercise on Day 25.... 3rd day missed out of my 40/40 Challenge.

But, TODAY is Day 26...



It's a beautiful SPRING SPRING SPRING day!!!

So, when I got home from work I put on my workout clothes and hit the streets for a nice brisk walk. The wind was blowing ever so gently and the sun was shining spectacularly!



I could have walked until the sun went down. It was just gorgeous out. So, I walked for 55 minutes at a 16 mile/min pace (according to SparkPeople).

So, Day 26 of 40/40 Challenge was done!! And I am back to normal!! Whoowee!

    Yes, you've gotta give your body what it needs. Else, it can't give you what you need. Sleeping should be considered an exercise. I mean, we're burning a lot of calories when we're in lala land, lol.

Day 24 of 40/40 Challenge: Heads Up

I on an assignment right now from 8a - 4p which is about 1 - 1.5 hrs away from my home. (There is no lunch hour... I have to stay with the client.). I have to be at church from 6:45p - 8p to conduct a training session. Bible class is from 8p - 10p. And, I accepted another job assignment from 12am - 8am in this same location.

So....

I think its pretty obvious that I won't be getting my 40 minutes of exercise in today. Its just NO WAY. I don't even think I'm going to bible class. I'm going to have to head home and freshen up and just lay on the bed for a few minutes before headed back up here. You guys know that, if it were possible, I would squeeze it in somewhere. But its just not possible today.

So...

2nd day missed out of my challenge... but its okay. No problem... Nothing lost. I'm still a "working-out-consistently" WARRIOR!

Day 23 of 40/40 Challenge: Walking on Sunshine...NOT!.. But Walking...

That should have been me...walking on sunshine. It was a beautiful day today. I should have went outside for a nice walk. BUT, I didn't. It was too hot! LOL

I'm all for walking outside in the SPRING but it wasn't spring today, it was SUMMER... 80 degrees! LOL

So, I had to keep it inside.... my date with Old Faithful (My Tready)!

Inside or Out, the point is: Day 23 of 40/40 Challenge is DONE!

    I missed this blog, so I'm just reading it now. I think I walked around the track on this day. It was sooooo gorgeous! But I waited until later on in the evening. Everybody and their mama was at the track, lol.

Day 22 of 40/40 Challenge: Up Up and Away...

Went to church this morning... OF COURSE! :-)

When I got home from service I took off all my clothes and put on my caftan. This is what a caftan looks like for those who don't know...



(This picture serves a purpose, so just bear with me. I'm creating the visual...)

I'm going back to service this evening at another church where my husband will be preaching so I just went down to the basement to chill for a while before having to put my clothes back on for service.

As I was watching "Prince of Persia" on Netflix I was thinking about what I was going to do for my exercise today when I got back home from service. Then it hit me! I thought to myself, "I have time NOW!"

SO......

....With my caftan and underwear on...and barefeet; I just turned on the treadmill and went for it. I walked slowly (30 min/mile pace) but I set the tready at an incline of 5% so that I could get some kind of calorie burn during. I felt the sweat dripping from my boobs. LOL Sorry if TMI. LOL!



ANYHOOO...

I'm really getting this "making the best use of my time" thing down. Why SIT and watch a movie when you can WALK and watch... or DANCE and watch... or MARCH IN PLACE and watch... or JUMP ROPE and watch!!

    WAY TO GO on getting up and doing something! That is awesome!


I would not be comfortable leaving this unsaid though... PLEASE always wear shoes on the treadmill. You can really hurt yourself if you go barefoot. And an injury would only set you back. Maybe keep a pair of shoes next to the treadmill, just in case. Take care of your body, so that it can keep working FOR you!
