Sugar Cravings - HELP!!!

Tuesday, February 04, 2014

I really need some help with my sugar cravings, they are OUT OF CONTROL!!!

I did so good towards the end of last year, went almost three months w/NO sugar at all!!! Now it's like I can't get enough of it!

Any suggestions???

    I have the same problem so it's hard to give advice when I can't follow it myself but I've heard that you should not ignore but embrace with natural whole foods and sweets. Fruit, honey, etc. Best of luck to you!

    It's a hard fight. Try fruit like everyone is suggesting. Or only buy one small item for those bad days. emoticon

    Try substituting some fruit! Grapes always help me, I like the big, fat green ones! Yogurt with granola is a good idea! Maybe some blueberries in it, too? emoticon emoticon

    I've been having a similar problem. Best thing I can suggest is don't bring it not your house.

    Stay away from the processed sweets and choose natural sugars. Make sure the rest of your diet is balanced and get enough sleep. I started taking 5-HTP and it has helped my carb cravings. Hang in there!

    I had that problem a few months ago. Oh, it was awful--I went from 124 lbs to 127 lbs before I got it under control. And the only way I did that was to get it OUT OF THE HOUSE! Carb Control Vanilla yogurt with frozen Blueberries helped A LOT!

    Fruit, and yogurt diet soft drinks but sometimes the sweet tooth gets me too hopefully it's only in moderation. emoticon emoticon

    How about instead of no sugar, you do sugar in moderation? I have a pretty good sweet tooth as well. I like to brew my own tea (hot or iced) and add a little bit of natural sweetener (sugar in the raw is good- 1 packet per 10 ounces). Or treat yourself to some fruit or yogurt with granola.

2014 ~ Wow

Monday, January 06, 2014

Wow, I cannot believe that 2014 is here. I was happy to have met all of my financial goals in 2013, in fact I paid off over $18,000 in debt by working two jobs.

Didn't even come close to making my weight loss goals!

I am trying to decide if I want to stick with SparkPeople this year. I love the blogging aspect of this site and the social interaction. That seems to be all I use it for, don't use any of the weight loss tools. Heck, honestly I don't have time working both jobs!

Ya'll have a wonderful day!

Paying off $18,000 in debt is awesome. You must feel very proud. That's a great deduction. I hope you can do the same in 2014 so you can feel relieved and get down to one job and have more time for other things.
I'm always happy to read your short blogs. You don't have to leave.

    Great job at paying down your debt! Huge achievement! That is definitely one of my focuses, too. I think many of us can relate when it comes to not being entirely successful at meeting the weight loss goals, especially with the bombardment of tempting foods at the end of the year. I always return to SP because of the support of the community here. The tools are great as well but the communities and blogs really encourage me to continue the battle. I took a little hiatus from SP yet again (been doing that since 2009) but I am back at it again. Happy New Year to you! I wish you continued success with your debt reduction and weight reduction!

    CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCESSES IN 2013!

I'm glad to hear from you and glad to know you managed to accomplish some good portion of what you set out to do. You should be very proud of yourself!

I know you are busy, but please don't give up on SPARK altogether. You have been a friend and motivator along the way to many and we'd really feel a loss if you were to completely disappear. Once every two weeks just to say hello? Maybe?

Just Hanging Around

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Thought I would pop in and write a short blog. I'm still around, just not feeling the Spark, so I'm keeping quiet.

Working two jobs is really getting to me, but I can't stop now . . . debts are not paid off so until then I must continue on.

Ya'll have a great day!

August Goals

August Goals

To understand my thought process behind my goals, you must be aware of my motivation. To learn more about my motivation please read my $$ Money is My Motivator $$ blog. www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu
blic_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=54
37097

I have decided to pay myself for exercising! I donít have a lot to spare (you will know that if you read the other blog), but I think I can pull this off, heck I know I can!

This is my daily exercise routine & yes, I found this on Pinterest! Feel free to follow me (Patriciaintx).
* 10 Push-Ups
* 10 Sit-Ups
* 25 Squats
* 10 Lunges Per Leg / 20 Total
* 50 Jumping Jacks
* 30 Second Plank
* 60 Second Wall Sit

As the month progresses & I build my stamina up, I will add in increments of 5 to each exercise. How I will pay myself is $0.01 for each repetition. That may not sound like much, but I did the math & to just do what is listed there for 31 days is $63.55 or something close to that.

I plan on putting that money back for a treadmill. That way I can start adding in my cardio.

I will work on continuing the following streaks for August also:
* No trips to the vending machine
* No Soda
* No Sugar, by sugar I mean cakes, pie, cookies, etc.
* Take Meds Daily
* Exercise 10 min./day, havenít been doing very good on this one, heck havenít been doing it at all. That is why I need the motivation.
* No potatoes . . . I am trying to kick the potato habit, just a start to working towards better nutrition. I do good for a couple of days then I crash!

Sounds like some awesome goals to me!! Of course I have set goals before only to fail. I get side tracked, I get tired, something makes me upset, etc. This time I am hoping that with all of the support from all my wonderful SparkFriends I can stay on track for the month. I feel, as I have always felt in the past, if I can just get back into the habit of exercising regularly, that I will feel better, as well as begin to look better!!

You can find me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/patriciag.patton ~ If you add me as a friend on Facebook, please let me know you are from Spark People, I prefer not to accept people I'm not sure who they are.

    Great goals for August! Once you start, keep telling yourself: "I better do this, I better do this, I better do this," and, hopefully, you'll stay on track. Okay, you have now motivated me to at least start my goal of walking 15 minutes on the treadmill everyday. It doesn't sound like much, but it's a good start for me.

    Oh, Wow, Patricia! I think that is a fantastic idea! I KNOW you will be successful, just like you do! Remember, potatoes by themselves aren't bad! It's what you put on them! I eat a baked potato once in a while with the Lite Daisy Sour Cream on it, and that is it! It doesn't add many calories and tastes GREAT!!

Please keep on blogging and posting and letting us know your progress so that we can cheer you on! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Great idea to pay yourself! Good plan.
I aim this week to do 100 jumping jacks a day, in 5 groups of 20. Plus bodysculpting and 28 day bootcamp programme for 5 weeks, slightly over, actually, as I missed a few days before I started workingnout first thing in the morning. I need to work out some goals for August...

Over a year ago to encourage me, I would put $1.00/day if and only if I stayed within my ranges. Every one of them and I've earned quite a bit over time. And then I forgot about my little game because I wasn't earning the $ so much and now I feel that I should get smack right back into it and thanks for your blog reminding me of that. emoticon emoticon emoticon It's time once again for me to earn $ too!     Sounds like a great plan - I hope you end up having to pay yourself on a regular basis! I like having a treadmill, then I have no excuse to get my cardio in on a really rainy or cold day. I've been pretty good about exercising since the beginning of the year and now I have a goal to get 12,000 steps in a day, which I've only come up short a couple of days. Now I'm trying to train for a 10k because my neighbor talked me into signing up for it. Now I have a schedule I'm determined to stick to and a little under 9 weeks to get ready.
Good luck to you - keep going!

    Good plan and yes - you'll feel better and look better. If you can stick to a workout plan for about two weeks, it become a habit, effectively second nature and you feel like something important is missing from your day if you skip it. i'm working on getting to that place and I wish it for you.
