Stress of School is Getting to Me!!!

OMG!!! I am soo super stressed out with school, I fell off the wagon and no I have went out of control with my eating. I need some motivation to get back on track.

    Try to fit in a 20 minute walk, it will do wonders to clear your head and make you feel good about your self again! Bumps in the road happen, just don't let the bump take you over, you can cover come!!! As you walk, go over the changes you are pleased about, and for that 20 minutes focus on nothing but the positives!

10 lbs Off!! Goal 1 Met!!!

I started SparkPeople two weeks ago today and had a great weight loss the first week and a healthy weight loss this week. I want to lose 2 lbs a week and keep it off. I am so happy that I am making progress. Progress is a great motivator. I met my first mini-goal that has a reward attached to it-10 pounds gone and in exchange for the 10 lbs I get new walking shoes. I am so excited!!!! emoticon

    emoticonI am so glad you have lost so much just starting out. I haven't lost anything since I started the diet but I have gained motivation reading blogs from those who have lost. I am on prednisone, a drug that causes weight gain and it is going to be hard to lose the weight and it is going to come off slowly, I know. You make all of us proud of you. Keep it up.

I am nearing the end of my second week with SP and I feel great. I feel great fueling my body with the right things and exercising for the first time on a consistent basis in years. I am surprised how well my body is treating me now that I am treating it better! I am not sluggish by 7 pm and my stomach is not in knots all the time. If I don't lose a pound this week, I will be ok because I feel great. I don't miss that greasy fried food or all the sugar in the foods I used to eat at all. I pray I remember this feel, the difference you feel when you are good to your body as opposed to abusing it. emoticon

Nursing school begins on Monday, will good habits end?

I am so nervous about Monday. My final year of nursing school begins on Monday and my schedule will be very hectic and busy from this point, until I graduate in May 2009. I am so afraid that my diet will go back to Pepsi and fast food. I am planning ahead by stocking up on healthy snacks and I am addicted to water now. I hope I can make it through this semester and maintain the new habits I am learning. emoticon

    You can do anything that you set out to do. I was 45 when I started nursing school and was working as a paramedic up to 12 hr + a night. It was hard to study and keep good grades; to juggle work; clinicals and family. YOU CAN DO IT AND YOU WILL!! emoticon

    I also started college again (not for nursing) last week. I worried that I wouldn't stick to healthy habits, but I have been eating decently. I commute so I don't need to rely on the cafeteria, and I just eat a turkey sandwich for lunch and avoid eating the unhealthy foods (fried foods, fries, pizza, soda and so on)
Hang in there! The healthier lifestyle will definitely helps you academic life! Good luck

    Keep in mind that pepsi & fast food will not give you the energy you need to get you through this time making better food choices & taking care of yourself will this final year is a tough time with lot of late night studying, clinicals & exams take care of yourself & you will get through it much easier.
