I love, love, love the new format of the start page. That said, today I found this on it:

I don't "twitter", "pin", "facebook" (I call myself a facebook voyeur, look but don't post), so I'm putting a tracker on my page to follow the 20-day challenge.

I find I'm not as successful when I create my own goals and challenges. I need a little push from my friends!

So. . . .who's in?

My goals are not unreasonable. . . . so here we go again:

Excercise 30min 5 days/wk emoticon
track all food NLT 5 days/wk emoticon
resulting in:
Fit into jeans 2/28 emoticon

So, one thing I did was to put the pilates classes on my calendar. I'm hoping to get 1-2 pilates classes/week and 1 yoga per week. As the weather improves (read wind dies down!) I'll get dogzilla back on the schedule!


On a wasted month

First off, I don't make "resolutions" on the first of january. I do them most every day!!

That said, I created my goal board and when I'm on the site I review it. (PS I LOVE that feature). So. . . short term goals:

Stretch daily. . . maybe 10/31 days
fit into jeans by 1/27. . . no
track food 5/7 days. . . maybe 15 days
exercise 30min 5 days per week. . . maybe 12 days

Thus the title of my blog, "A Wasted Month". It's like the commercial about college, where will you be in 4 years? In this case, my goals were lofty and my results not so much.

So, February begins today (Happy B-day cousin D), and another month of opportunity.
February 28, I want my blog to read "on a Successful month".

    I agree that you should celegrate everything you did right this month! I wonder if you might just build some momentum if you picked 1 of those goals for the month--and be "mindful of the others. For example, what if your goal is to exercise 20 minutes everyday and do the food tracking when you think of it. Then maybe add something the next month. Hmmmm, I should try this maybe!

New Mexico makes it easy for me to grill most nights of the year. . . for us a perfect dinner is

Grilled trout (usually from about an hour away from here!) emoticon
grilled veges (I like summer squash with red peppers, garlic and cumin) emoticon

protein alternatives include: elk, chicken, salmon, pork
vege alternatives include: broccoli, brussel sprouts, asparagus, steamed green beans

Looking forward to the summer garden.

    How do you cook the brussels sprouts? I want to like them but haven't found a good way to cook them.

On day 1 of real life

So I'm calling today day 1 after recovery. Day 0 was the first day I didn't sleep most of the day and ate 3 normal meals.

Still on a med that is affected by calcium so meal planning is interesting

Took a 50 min walk (let's call it a stroll) and really felt the heat. Probably only about 75 or so but I'm guessing my adaptive systems are still a little under the weather.

BLC starts tomorrow. Fortunately first challenge is a no brained
