Well I have been so discouraged and down on myself. I had such a rough winter. First my back went out late in the fall and it put me in a frump...Then we ultra cold weather which is unusual here so I didn't get out much at all to even try to walk. I sat and moped around feeling sorry for myself about my back and ate and sat and sat and ate and gained all but 1 lb back. I'm very thankful a spark friend I have here came to my rescue. She was needing a diet and fitness buddy and she sent me a message. It seems she has been through major knee replacement (I had both mine replaced in 2001) so we have been emailing. I think all the stuff that they want you to do here was becoming a little overwhelming so we both have decided to mainly do the calorie counter and look up some of the fitness videos and exercises we can do or modify and forget the point system. We are weighing each Monday and keeping each other accountable. So far this past week I've lost 2 pounds. I've been researching back problems and feel mine is esculating to a worse stage as I'm beginning to drag my right leg. I have made doctor appointment and will try to continue to walk in spurts...5 minutes at a time is about all I can manage before the back gives me problems. Then I rest awhile and walk again. I also found walking on an even surface makes a lot of difference. We live on a hillside so walking up and down hill maybe put on hold for awhile. But at least I'm tackling these problems now and not sitting and eating and moaning and groaning about it. I probably won't do the spark teams much. They were just taking too much time also. I've also decided to get back to some of my crafting I so enjoy. In a week, I've completed a new traditional rug hooked candle mat for a swap. I have also entered a doll challenge for the Houston quilt festival...And maybe I will be in shape enough to make a trip to it in November. Anyway I'm back!!!
