Thanks to everyone for stopping by and brightening my day. I have done a little better today in the allergy war. I got up and ate a small breakfast. No longer had fever. But then couldn't keep my eyes open and had terrific headache so went back to be and slept until after 2p.m. I feel so much better though still have slight headache. I did get 20 minutes of exercise in. Going to eat a really light snack type lunch/dinner. Since we don't eat but 2 meals a day this will be my 2nd meal. I have already put in my calories and know exactly how much to eat. Have it all measured out.

Starting tomorrow is my 2nd week on the 5%challenge..This week to make lifepoints we have o measure our foods...This will be easy for me as I haven't quit measuring it. It really makes a difference. You would be surprised what you think is the right amount is so much more than the correct amount. Cereal for example. Sometiems we are so mindless and just pour into our bowls..most serving sizes are half a cup and when you measure it, you will be shocked at how little it looks..but if you must indulge in a bowlfull then be sure to track the correct calories and seving sizes. So motto is MEASURE everything!!

Well I know I won't get much exercise in today. I went to bed in a chill last night and ran a low grade temp all night...pretty sure it is sinuses caused from so much pollen..So I've been up today but running at a snails pace...Took some meds so hope it helps some. Probably going to bed really early. I just had to come on and put in my points and things for the 5%challenge though it isn't much..will keep plodding away when I feel better.

    Hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the info about the chocolate tea. I'm definitely going to be ordering it. There were a few other seasonal flavors that looked mighty yummy as well.

Day 5 It's a Bang!!!

Today started out rainy again. We did some major shopping so got some good walk time in while shopping. Keeping my calories within range. Sun is now out so going to finish the day with a bang and get more walk time. 5% challenge is going good for me though don't think I've lost any this week. I won't be discouraged. Well wasn't able to get here yesterday to do much. Was so busy and then when I found time, I couldn't get on the internet until late last night. I got on with my tablet when I got in bed and just put in my calories and did my update for the 5% challenge.

I thought I had a set back as a friend sent me a tiny box of the Whitman chocolates..the one with 4 pieces but when I put them in my calorie count I still stayed under the 1500 calories so felt so much better. But think it may have gotten me on a chocolate binge. I had a hot cocoa this morning but I've tracked the calories so it won't be as bad either. But got the chocolate tea out and will be drinking it instead now..it really helps..it is by Biglow and I have to order it online. I order a case of it, pumpkin spice and eggnog tea for the holidays. I keep some and give some as gifts as they are hard to find in stores and just as cheap to order as to find in a store and buy. I also got out my Stash tea that is almond flavored and then I have a wonderful loose tea that is jasmine. I love it in summer iced. it tastes like the teas they use in the Japanese tea gardens..and since it is a green tea, it is quite good for you in losing weight..My usual favorite is Earl Grey and I really need to get a decaf of it so I can have a cup in the evening hours. I drink it with splend and a touch of milk..I justify and track the milk as know the milk offsets in the calcium that the tea may deplete from my body.

Exercise is coming along too. I'm getting 15 minutes of core exercises each day and trying to walk. I'm still doing about 10minutes of walking in but today I will walk in place as it is pouring and due to rain for several day. I haven't gotten my yoga tape ot work yet. I don't have the spare tv and VCR set up to use..need to put that on my to-do list.

But the 5% challenge is off to a good start.

    You are doing great with the exercises! Keep up the good work. Yes, we are due for a LOT of rain in the next few days.

Your tea sounds wonderful. We only recently started having "tea time" around 3:00 pm. It's a nice break in the afternoon. I would love to try some of the chocolate tea. Where do you order it online?

5% Challenge day 2

Well today didn't go as well as before. We had 2 of the sons and their families out to eat outside..I did great until we got to the cake..splurged as it was strawberry shortcake and so topped out over my 1500 calories...not good but not going to whip myself over it. It isn't everyday that we have the kids and grandkids out and the weather is so nice. Both sons work off shore so are only home at certain times and usually not together. Oldest son is supposed to come up to visit this next week..

Anyway the day went ok really. But while I was looking around, I found a blog where they posted the goals they intend to do the next day and also if they accomplished their goals for that day..So thinking about that, think I might try to do something similar. I will list tomorrow's goals and then tomorrow will list whether I completed it.

Goals for tomorrow 3/19:
Walk 20minutes (may have to do in 2-10minute stretches)
Arm exercises (10minutes)
Begin organizing studio
Dust the house

    One Day over does not destroy the journey to 5% -- It's when you let those days over accumulate and accumulate -- so yeah don't beat yourself up just move on emoticon

    Yes, you can't beat yourself up over your choices -- pick yourself up, move on, no regrets. Tomorrow IS another day! I do like the idea of setting up tomorrow's goals...as Scarlett O'Hara said, "Tomorrow IS another day!"
