what I made today

I'm in a round robin yahoo group of just 5 people..We all are making sewing box kits..we decorated our own boxes and then are doing the round robin on the things we put in it..I have passed on my needlebook which is a bird theme in aqua and reds..It was a lot of fun to decorate this box and may have to make others for gifts.

Laugh for the day

I thought this was so funny and wanted to share with you...But sometimes it seems like this is true..we are what we eat..and how much we eat..

Feeling better today but still being lazy..temps are in the low 100F's..which is better than the 112 we had one day..but still not good..managed to get 40 minutes of exercise in and ate within my calorie range so doing all right.

Under the Weather

Not sure if it the heat we are having, having to stay in and from a/c to heat or just tired from all the canning and blowing and going, but I haven't felt good all day today. I've not felt like doing anything..I did paint my toenails and started covering a box for a sewing kit but the rest of the time I'm just laid around and read of been on the internet. I did get a walk in twice today..once outside early and once inside..My joints are also really achy..so going back to my book and going to bed early..tomorrow will be a better day.

Short entry TIRED!!!

Have you ever been too tired to even move..Well that is me at this moment...In the last 2 days, I have put up 36 pints of apple jelly, 77 half pints of apple jelly and 20 pints of tomatoes..I'm so tired that I can't even think straight..so going to be early.

Tomorrow I have a fun day planned with my sister..going to meet her for a fun day together..Catch you later. night!!!

    I hope you got a good night's sleep. I can't believe all the canning you have been doing. It is exhausting just reading about it...can't imagine how sore you must be from all that standing.

The good part though is you will have all that lovely food to eat and share as presents in the months to come.

Building Consistency

I read a motivational article today here about 3 ways to build consistency in getting healthy and losing weight..For some reason I can't link it today..so here is my explanation..

Rule #1: Never tell yourself Im not motivated. Sometimes we make excuses why we don't want to exercise or why we want that last piece of pie or ice cream or that hamburger from the local fast food place..and sometimes we just say we aren't motivated..but we are motivated is we really want to lose weight and get healthy..so therefore it is a choice we have to make..do we exercise or do we sit in front of the tv/computer...so we eat that ice cream or go for some fruit..

Rule #2: Build momentum one step at a time. It should be how we do anything in our lives..We start out with baby steps and build on that. When I came back here this January I could hardly walk 10 minute stretches..so I built consistency by walking those 10 minutes every single day instead of saying what's the use. I added a minute when I could and then also walked 2 ten minute stretches a day. I still struggle walking more than 12 minutes at one time due to my bad back but I can get 2 walks in a day now. Also last week I made the decision to add arm and upper body exercises...first 2 days I managed about 7 minutes and then skipped a day and then managed to get 10 minutes in for 2 days and skipped a day and finally I've gotten in 15-30minutes a day. I plan to continue this next week for shoot for at least 10 minutes every single day. I'm building consistency.

Rule #3: Always have a plan B. Ok this is sometimes where we mess up and give up..we don't have a plan B..I have started walking but if it gets past 9a.m. it has begun to get to hot to really be outside..so my plan is to get up early and first thing in the morning I walk 10 minutes..well if something comes up and I can't manage that, then I walk back and forth in the house for 10 minutes. For my 2nd walk of the day I walk back and forth in the house or in place or dance a little with it..If I am going shopping I walk really fast through the stores for the entire time I'm shopping. I also never sit at my computer or in front of the tv for more than 10 minutes at a time. During commercials I get up and walk through the house..Movement is the key..I don't let excuses get in the way..

    Very perceptive advice. I really like that you said to never tell yourself you are not motivated. What you tell yourself becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. So I tell myself that I am a winner and it has really helped me achieve my goals so far.
