What has kept me from blogging

I have been so busy that I've met myself coming and going..So this is catch up here and then won't have time to post again until Monday. I knew this week was going to be busy so just didn't sweat trying to post here..So here is how it all went..

Monday had art guild meeting. Spent almost all day Tuesday on the phone..Wednesday we went to DIL's house to help work on their pumphouse. Managed to take a photo of the entertainment center hubby made for her..photo is awful but you get the idea.


Thursday I met a couple of ladies at the art gallery to get it ready for the gallery walk fundraiser. I was up and down a ladder so much and then one electrical outlet where we had planned to put the table with the coffee pot and the cider crock pots had a short in it so had to rearrange all the tables..was on my feet almost the entire time and was so thankful for the weightloss I have already attained as my back didn't hurt near as bad as it would have otherwise..but did have to take a pain pill last night..we had cold front come through and along with that and being on my feet all day, I was rather achy..

Then today I've spent all day baking...goodies for the galler walk fundraiser. All is shown here except for the cake balls. Made a lemon poppy seed cake, snickerdoodle cookies, peanut butter cookies and 15 bags of caramel corn. Wound up making 2 lemon poppy seed cakes as first one crumbled taking out of the pan. so they are being used for the cake balls.



.Then DIL came over with her baked goodies and for me to type up a couple of letters for her..Here are her goodies:...apple pie and sugar cookies.


so now have time to sit down awhile..will get my bath in a few mintues and then stitch awhile. I still have my cake balls to coat with almond bark but will do that in the morning. So tired but got a good workout the last 2 days..weigh date is tomorrow..we will see if it all helped.

    Oh my all that baking....it looks absolutely lovely! Your husband does amazing woodwork....that entertainment center is gorgeous. I hope you have a wonderful weekend at the gallery fundraiser. Then some much needed rest!

Random Shots

I just had some random photos on my camera and decided to share them here. First is my hubby's first deer of the season..Muzzle loader (black powder) season opened yesterday and he bagged an 8 point. Hubby is almost 67 years old and still agile, strong and pretty good looking for an oldie.

Miss Molly Belle came for a visit today. I haven't seen her in about 2 months..so she and her sweet mommie came out for a visit today..poor darling stepped in a fire ant bed and then the yellow jacket wasps were so bad so we didn't stay outside long.

Molly and Me and our yard dogs in front of our Halloween decoration...man caught in the hay baler and was baled along with the hay.

Then Miss Molly had to knock on the gnome family's door.

And remember the bags of wool..well 2 were nothing but black and red jackets. I got all those 2 bags cut into "woolie worms"..these are my reds. I had that much black as well.

2 pound loss

I'm so excited today..I have a 2 lb. loss for this week. I'm now down to 190lbs and still have a ways to go to get to a really healthy weight but I'm on my way..I just knew when I over ate this week that it would show a gain instead of a loss...and such a change from just a half pound loss which is what it has been since January. I was weighing 217 in December last year and started back here on SP the end of January and was down to 211 by the end of February..so really it is a 27lb loss though it is only showing 21lbs on my ticker...and think that plateau I was on the end of August is broken for now..I know there will be other plateaus but I will overcome it as well, though it may be frustrating.

Note on my sister...she is still sleeping and just talked to BIL and told him not to wake her. I will call again later this evening.

Still cutting woolie worms for my rug hooking and also making some wool applique coasters. Keeping busy while hubby is deer hunting.

Sister

I only have one sibling...an older sister..Having one sister has made us closer as we have aged. We used to fight like cats and dogs when we were young..but as we have aged we have grown so close..Sure we have some disagreements from time to time but always say were sorry whether we are in the wrong or not..

My DIL who is married to my youngest son has 3 sisters and 2 brothers..They are all grown with kids of their own and still they squabble worse than any small kids. It seems now it is all over their mom..Their mom began to show signs of alzheimers and my DIL and one of her older sisters were going over to her house every other day checking on her etc. Oldest sister would go occasionally. The next oldest had been handling her mom's money issues and medical issues and oldest was mad and so took her to court to get custody of her mom. The court wound up giving her custody over her money and the other over her medical..so the one over medical had her mom placed in an expensive nursing home..middle sister has been mad because it all boiled down to the fact she wanted her mom's money..well my DIL and her younger sister have tried to stay out of it but they have been siding with the middle sister over their mom's health care..The 2 older brothers have stayed out of it until recently and the sister in charge of the money has been stirring them up..and sad thing is they haven't seen their mom in about 3 or 4 years..It is just so sad when you have siblings who have issues like they do..

I'm so thankful for my sister..our mom also had alzheimers and when it came time to put her in an alz unit, there was no squabble..we did not squabble over dividing mother's personal items and selling our old home where we grew up..we were united in our sadness in seeing the old house go..

Yesterday my sister had back surgery in a back clinic about 50 miles from her home..they let her stay all night after surgery in a hotel beside the clinic so they took her direct in her wheel chair to her room..She went back today and they removed her stitches and drainage tube and sent her home..she is sleeping now so will call her tomorrow evening to maybe get to talk with her. I worried so about my sister as she has not been through many surgeries in her lifetime..she is like our mom was in that she doesn't do well being put under..hard for her to wake up..I'm just so thankful she made it home and seems to be doing ok..I would hate to lose my sister.

    I know what you mean about families. My sister's are always mad at me and most of the time I wasn't there so I didn't have anything to do with it. Our Mom is in the same boat. Currently her brother and his wife is living with her. But it is tough.

    I detest family (or most any kind of) BICKERING especially over money. I will pray for your family (DIL and sister, as well as YOU). I am glad your sister is doing well. I am VERY close to my 2 sisters and can not even consider doing without them.
