The one thing I have always done and keeps me in a really good happy frame of mind is keeping positive thoughts and positive people around me. I have found with my emoticon A team for the 5% challenge that I have positive people to help me along my journey here. I do ok in the diet and eating healthy and drinking water but will have to get more positive attitude about exercise.

    Well written! What a great blog about the power of positive thoughts! Stress is a key for me. I can be so positive for others but give myself such a hard time. I am working on the same thing and turning to positive to help me through tough times. Very inspiring and hopeful blog. I have been watching Betty White's new comedy show and just love the antics those old people play on young people. Wouldn't you just for once like to pull a prank like the cartoon above..heehee.

Anyway I'm on day 6 of this week's 5% challenge and this is mainly the last question.
6) Do you need some motivation or advice?
I get a lot of motivation and advice from all my friends here on SP. Our Awesome A team is so encouraging and helpful. My DIL who is on a health kick right now has also been helping me some as well. We share recipes and she shows me new exercises she has been doing. So it really helps to have people to motivate and help me along.

Another motivation is knowing that if I lose I can go to smaller size clothes and also will reward myself for a monthly massage as well. But the biggest motivation and reward is getting healthy and stronger as a result.

    I have been using Sparkcoach...I find the daily visualizations VERY motivating! I'm glad your DIL is on "Team Vonblackbird"...I always find it helpful to have other people "in real life" to team up with!

I can really try to get more exercise and push myself more in this area. I do ok on eating within calorie range and eating healthy foods so mainly just need work on exercise.

(I'm more than halfway finished with my hooked rug. We got the garden disked again and hubby worked on removing the old chicken house. It has been a really quiet day. We did find out that one of the granddaughters..the one in Texas we never see...had surgery. She had a terrible underbite and they broke her jaw and realigned it. Her mom which does not want anything to do with us never called. We only found out through other DIL who found out from her daughter on Facebook.)

    Sorry about the rift in the family. :( That must be so hard. We have one too in our family (me and my sister - haven't talked for 2-3 years), and I know it makes my mom so sad sometimes.

    Don't we all have areas that need improvement???
Remember the 10 minute rule - exercise at least 10 minutes per day. Just march in place in front of the sink - or go up and down the stairs a few times - if you have stairs.
Don't be too hard on yourself.

    Exercise is definitely important. Maybe work on increasing it in chunks, like Sonya said. I think that's a great idea.

Sorry to hear there is issues around family and not knowing about it. That is always hard.

4 point catch up

I didn't realize we were to be using these points to blog this week for the 5% challenge. I thought we were to just blog every day. I already somewhat do the blogging thing so thought I would catch up on the points. Here are the first 4

1) What new habit you wish to develop?
To exercise more. Mainly core exercises and do more yoga.

2) How will you do that?
Using SP videos and my own yoga videos and if weather allows me to use the bowflex. When temps are cold the green room we keep it in is much too cold for me to endure it so will use free weights for arms and core.

3) What are you doing to encourage yourself and keep on track?
Giving myself a monthly massage for when I lose and get more fit each month.

4) How are you doing day by day.
So far so good. Keeping on track with exercise and calories and eating more fruit.

3/3 missed it

Some how I missed a day somewhere...but going to post my blog now for yesterday and then will post another later this evening on how my day went today.

Yesterday was strange. I think I was in la-la land somewhere. I thought I had posted to my 5% challenge tracking my miles but somehow didn't even do that. DIL Carmen and Miss Molly came for a visit and so love being with them so much and then the History Channel had the first of a 5 week part on the Bible so watched it and somehow forgot all about posting my totals.

But I did get a 30minute walk in and kept my calorie count within range. I have now figured out I am going to have to eat more fruit for sure. So have added prunes and dried apricots to my diet. Could be why I was in la-la land for 2 days.

But overall the weekend went well.

    I almost did the same thing too. It was bedtime when I realized I hadn't even spun the wheel. Glad you got your exercise in and ate within your calorie range. You're doing great. Keep it up!
