It was a good day for me. I had no trouble getting out of the driveway and getting to work. The temperature was in the high 50's or low 60's, so much of the snow and ice melted. We are expecting those same temperatures for the next few days. "THE HILL" is still frozen at the top, but about half way up (or down) it is thawed. I am able to get closer to the house now since I can park about half way up. Less walking up and down "THE HILL" is enough to make me feel a little more cheerful.
Thank you all for responding. Your comments are very much appreciated. I am sort of rushed right now because after the classes, I visited with Shelby at the Rehab Center. She is progressing, and soon to leave the center. Her legs look better with less swelling and the redness has cleared somewhat.
So I am out of here for now. I hope you all have a GREAT WEEKEND! Take care, and keep in touch.

After being SNOW/ICE bound all week, I finally got out today. Oh, I wasn't staying in by choice. I wasn't able to get my truck out of the driveway. The driveway was (is) solid ice, and where I was parked at the bottom of "THE HILL," there was no way that I could get onto the street (that was iced over until today). Seeing that I wasn't going ANYWHERE today unless something changed (I've told myself that every day this week, and NOTHING changed), I decided to take action. I called a wrecker to come, and tow the truck to a tire shop. So now, I have four new tires. My thoughts were the worn and slick tires were prohibiting me from getting out of the driveway.
When I returned, I had to once again park in the driveway at the bottom of "THE HILL" but I am hoping the new tires will let me pull right out of there in the morning. The streets are OK now because the temperature was in the 50's today, but my driveway is still iced over from the bottom to the top. It is not easy walking down "THE HILL" to the truck, but since I've done it about 20 times this week, (each time hoping that would be the time when I could pull out), I sort of have a path carved out of the ice.
This has not been a very good week, but I am hoping these warmer temperatures we are going to have for the next few days will brighten my spirits. I hope your 'Spirits are Bright."
Have a wonderful Friday and a very nice WEEKEND!

The situation did NOT get better, it got WORSE during last night and today. Everything in this area was canceled. The two gyms where I was scheduled to work today were both closed, and the gym where I work that is open 24/7 was open but there was no staff there or no classes being held. So, I've been home alone all day. I slept off and on throughout the day, and I really didn't accomplish anything other than catching up a little on my sleep. I am OK with that since it has been such a busy, rushed, and chaotic past couple of weeks.
I don't imagine I will be going anywhere tomorrow either. Our street is covered with snow and ice that isn't going anywhere anytime soon with a predicted temperature of 10 degrees for tonight. I am NOT OK with that, but nothing that I can do about it.
I checked on my truck at the bottom of the hill to make sure no tree limbs had fallen on it. It is OK but covered with snow and ice. I thought maybe the doors would be frozen stuck, but I managed to get the driver's door open. The passenger's door was frozen shut.
I hope things are better in your area. MORTICIA, I think you and I share the same weather forecast. So stay inside and stay warm.

When I drove by the bank yesterday, I looked at the sign out front that shows the time and the temperature. SEVENTY Degrees! How GREAT is THAT? I have mentioned how 'WEIRD' our weather is, haven't I?
OK, so for most of the afternoon today, and it is predicted to continue on through the night and until around noon tomorrow, we've had freezing rain and sleet. The trees were covered with ice (AGAIN) when I left from visiting with Shelby. I had to cut my visit short because I knew that I had to get to the grocery store, and get up "THE HILL" with the groceries, before "THE HILL" iced over.
So for now, I still have power, and I am at the top of "THE HILL" with my truck at the bottom. The schools are already closed for tomorrow, so I imagine my 8:30 AM class will be canceled. I don't know about the rest of the classes scheduled for the day. It is only going to be 13 degrees tonight and 10 degrees tomorrow night, so whatever falls isn't going away for a couple of days. There is something to look forward to though, on Friday, it is supposed to be 60 degrees. I have mentioned how "WEIRD" our weather is, haven't I?
Have a GREAT WEEK, "WEIRD" weather or not!
