Usually meet with a couple of friends on Tuesday for Bible study, but we have canceled for today. Just too cold and Elaine was at the Warming Station last night - so i bet she is now sleeping.
So this morning am going to bake bread - love my bread for toast. Do not bake in the summer - just too warm. So will be a treat today. Want to bake cookies too but am low on sugar - and probably will not get to the grocery store for a couple more days. But i think we have everything else that we need - and Schwans comes tomorrow. We love there veggies - their corn tastes so fresh. And i keep their frozen chicken breasts on hand -
My Sister had an appointment at the Infusion Center this morning and probably needed blood. Only heard from her briefly this morning as she was heading out.
I had a good day yesterday - got in more exercise than i had planned - mostly just some deep cleaning so i can get out Christmas!! This year i am getting out all of my decorations - don't have so many but will be fun to just to thru all of them.
This morning i cleaned off the top of the hutch in the dining area - removed the dishes and glass ware and moved the hutch out so i could clean under and behind it. Had been a while - now need to clean out the drawers.
Then this afternoon met with the knitters at the Buckin' Bean - and started a cap to donate to the Warming Center. It is open for the homeless when the temperature is below freezing.
Now am going to watch more of my current series - The Blacklist - and knit more on the cap i started.
I had planned to blog each day - but have not. But have been counting the days. And have done at least 10 minutes of exercise or stretching each day - just need to get it blogged and on the tracker. Am determined to do the 100 days and then to just keep counting. Just read a blog about a Mother and Daughter who did the 100 days and lost 74 pounds together.
My goal is not the weight loss - but am hoping that may be a bonus. My goal is to strengthen my legs - that seem to be giving out. Sometimes it is hard to just walk. But am learning that when i even just move 10 minutes a few times each day - and drink my water (this is the one challenge that is so difficult for me) that i do so much better.
So yesterday i cleared off the top shelf of a hutch that is in the living room - it holds part of my Son's coffee cup collection.
And now i am ready to start decorating for Christmas. Usually it is about New Years Day that i am ready - don't know why i am so in the mood right now - but am going to take advantage. We will probably not have a tree - there is just no room in our living room. We have a sofa, a love seat, and a recliner - am thinking about getting rid of one of them. Need to talk to Geoff about which one - probably the love seat.
We are freezing here in Pendleton - had snow Thursday - and now the temp just keeps dropping. This morning it is 6 degrees - and looks like we will be COLD until sometime next week. So i am just staying in - i think we have all we need for a few days - like bread, milk, coffee and, of course, peanut butter. Can't live without that staple!!
I did have fun yesterday watching the squirrels running along the branches of the trees - knocking off the snow. Looks like they were looking for their stashes of nuts.
Had a great day!! I was just getting ready to run a couple of errands when my daughter called. She had the day off. YEAH!! So we met at RiteAide and then went to StarBucks. We had our coffee and treat and visited for about an hour. She is going thru a rough time right now - so shared the latest with me. Then we went to her house for a while - and talked some more.
My Granddaughter was home so got to spend some time with Jill. She is in the 8th grade and is such a bright, fun girl.
Finally got home about 5:30 - too late fix dinner. I can find any excuse to not cook. So went and picked up McDonald's hamburgers and their iced coffee for Geoff and me. And we watched Six Days and Seven Nights while we ate. Such a cute movie - have seen it a number of times - and still enjoy it.
I met with Elaine and Steph at the Cookie Tree this morning - did not do any knitting, but had such a good visit. Also met Marilyn James, a gal i worked with many years ago at H&D. She had gone back to Medford for her High School reunion and had a very good time. So we reminisced about all the old hang-outs.
This evening am watching a good movie - A Gentleman's Game - about a boy learning the game of golf. I did try a couple of time - just not my game.
My sister is doing just ok. She is running a fever - so is cold most of the time. She did not need blood this morning when the levels were checked at the infusion center - and, for that, we are thankful. Just hope she does well until her next visit on Tuesday.
I have been faithfully drinking more water each day - and next week my goal is to get outside for a walk each day even if it is only to the corner.
Oh, and my pedometer is dying!! I checked on line and one like what i have is now $55!! Why such an increase in price. i know it has been a while since i bought the one i have, but really?????? So now will check at RiteAide tomorrow when i pick up my meds.
