Made it to Tuesday!

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Today seems to be a much better day, things are quite here and I am not wanting to thump my DH today, lol. He's is going much longer stretches before he needs his pain pill and muscle relaxer, so that's encouraging and he must be on the mend.

I did not want to go anywhere today, but looked in the cupboard and only saw one can of cat food, and we are just about out of bread, soooo, guess it'll be a trip to the store. It's cold out there today and we've had snow, but what was on the ground is disappearing and tomorrow it's suppose to be in the 40's, this is not sticking around, thank goodness.

My youngest DD made carrot cake cookies for Sunday, oh my, they were so good, she left me some and they are all gone, oh yum.

DD called last evening and talked about her first day on the new job, was very pleased with how it went and so excited about being back to work and this job is so much better than the one she got laid off from, thank you Lord.

Hope all are having a good Tuesday!

Positives

Thankful for this day.

Thankful for a more peaceful day.

Healing taking place for DH.

Thankful for DD's new job.

Blessings.

Hugs,
Shirl

Shirl, Glad that you and DH are both doing better today and that DD is pleased with her new job. Great news all around. I hate to hear that sn** word again. It's in the 80's here and about to storm, but that's FL. Hope the rest of your day is a good one.

Monday!

Monday, April 14, 2014

We went to the VA again today, and he did get to see his primary care doctor, basically he just needs to stay on the pain pills and muscle relaxers and give it time. It'd help if he'd do what he's suppose to do, at the moment I am not happy with him at all and if my mood had a color it'd be black, sorry no positive here today, maybe tomorrow.

I guess there is a positive in the fact that I can come here and vent, thanks for letting me do that, it might help keep me from smacking my DH.

Positives

Still thankful for this day.

Blessings.

Hugs,
Shirl

Thank you all for your comments. I know I am not the only woman with an impatient, sometimes ornery man, but it helps to hear you attest to those facts. I do love him so, but boy there are times like Pat says "you just want to whip um", boy ain't that the truth, lol. Love you all and your support it means so much and the venting helped.

Shirl, as Tina wrote, it's never easy to be a caregiver...and when the patient is a man, well...'nuff said!

Sending you lots of hugs!!

Blessings & love.

Oh Shirl, I know what you are going through with him not listening to the doctor...Ken listens while he is in the office but forgets as soon as he walks out the door. You have taken such great care of him through everything and I know you still will.
Prayers that it will be easier dealing with this too and that tomorrow is a better day. So glad you were able to find your positives in today. Venting is great!!! We are here for you.
Prayers, blessings, love and hugs,
Helen

OH Shirl, I don't know why men do what they do. It can really get under your skin. Sometimes you just want to whip um. But Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for both of you. Hugs.

Sat. night visit to ER/Palm Sunday

Sunday, April 13, 2014

Ended up in the ER with Clenton last night, he was having terrible back pain, they took another x-ray, he doesn't have much space in between his disc and the doc said he might have had a nerve being pinched, he put a pain patch on him and gave him a whole vicodin, by the time I got him back home I think the patch and pill had kicked in as he slept all night through. We'll go see his primary care doctor at the VA tomorrow, the ER doc said physical therapy might be help him. We got home around 1 a.m.

Dorothy, a nice lady from church came and picked up the bread and juice for the communion this morning as I was not going to leave him home alone.

We are still doing our family Easter today, glad it's here in the community room and we just have to walk down the hall a short distance.

I hope all have a blessed, serene Palm Sunday, silly me in other post this a.m. I was putting Psalm Sunday, silly me.

Positives

Thankful for this day.

Thankful for a great ER doctor last night.

Thankful for the relief of Clenton's pain last night.

Thankful for medicine that helped him.

Thankful for family time this afternoon.

Blessings.

Shirl, good luck at the VA today. Hope physical therapy will help him. Back pain is so difficult - you can't sit, stand or lie down. Sending prayers.

I like Psalm Sunday! :) Hope your Easter celebration was nice despite Clenton's pain.

So sorry that Clenton ended up in the ER but so thankful they were able to help him get some pain relief. Glad he was able to sleep comfortably all night. Sure hope you get some more answers at the VA tomorrow. Prayers for safe travels for you.
Dorothy sounds like a very nice lady. Glad she was able to help you out. I can sure understand not wanting to leave Clenton home alone.
Hope you enjoyed your Family's Easter today. How wonderful for everyone to be able to get together. What a blessing!!!

I hope when you take him to his regular doctor at the VA you will find relief for your husband. The VA in the Phoenix area is not a good place to go for fast service and you are better off if you don't expect any relief. But hopefully you are not located in AZ and you can actually get in to see your doctor and they do things for you.

My son is a Veteran, and unfortunately his only chance for medical relief is through the VA Administration in Phoenix. It's like no help at all.
