Hey you! You're awesome.

Thursday, October 10, 2013

In case you forgot, here are three tips to help you remember how awesome you are.

You Are One of a Kind. Every single one of us is unique. Youíve got something to offer than no one else has. And if you donít see this, no one else will.

Love What You Got. Even if you donít feel all that special, you are. It doesnít matter what someone else has. All that matters is what gifts you have been brought into the world with and what you plan to do with them.

Write Yourself a Love Letter. Itís so easy to focus on the negative. Next time you are having a hard time, are feeling down in the dumps, or not accepting of yourself, write yourself a love letter. Include everything you love about yourself and the world youíre living in.

Just Start.

Thursday, October 03, 2013

Sharing an article that hit home. Thought it might help some of you too.
emoticon emoticon emoticon

You Donít Need to Know How to Do It. You Just Need to Start.

Know Step A and do it. Then Step B, and then do it.

You donít have to listen to the negative chatter inside your head.
You can choose to mute it and turn the volume up on the good stuff.

You donít have to be overwhelmed.
You just take it moment by moment and focus only on whatís in front of you.
You donít have to have the best team, the right website, or be an expert.
You have everything you need right now; you just need the courage to act.

You donít have to wait for the sun or your trainer to exercise.
You put your kicks by your bed and do it without thinking.

You donít have to wait until the blogger says ďYes.Ē
You do it with someone else and before someone else does.

You donít have to wait for investors or your boss to notice your smarts.
You recognize it first.

You donít have to feel ashamed of learning how to do it.
You know that you canít be a beginner and be an expert at the same time.

You donít have to feel guilty for spending time on what makes you happy.
You do have to worry if you never listen to the voice inside you.

You donít have to wonder if you will look ďmessy.Ē
You will. Messy is okay for some time, even if it feels like a long time.

You donít have to (and cannot) play someone elseís game.
You play yours the best you can. It is yours and yours alone.

You donít have to sacrifice all of who you are to please others.
You do have to have boundaries and know why you have them.

You donít have to wait until your parents or wife or best friend understands you.
They wonít. You have to understand yourself before you expect it from others.

You donít have to wait for someone to help you.
You have to ask for help when you need it without shame.

You donít need to wait for others to give you props before you give it to them.
You can feel grateful for othersí success because it shows you where you want to do.

You donít have to feel like confident people were ďborn with it.Ē
You do have to build your own toolbox with things that make you feel strong.

You donít have to feel like your time hasnít come or that it never will.
You do have to know deep down that your best is yet to come.

No More People Pleasing: An Update

Monday, September 30, 2013

This used to be me. My last boss used to tell me each time I had a review that my area of growth was to stop people pleasing. He told me that 3 years in a row because I just couldn't give it up.

I never thought of it this way but I can see how it was true for me. It feels good to do something well, & like I said, I was one heck of a people pleaser. Then, when I finally reached that desperation point, I knew something had to change.

"I'm in charge." It's a message I've embraced over the past month or so & it's been empowering. I'm loving my decisions & since the ones I'm making don't directly impact people (e.g. going on a shopping spree & spending all of mine & DH's savings), I don't care what others think.

I'm doing what's best for me & it feels flippin' fantastic.

Z - In my life I have found that the older you get, the easier it becomes. You take care of you, respect you and worry about you and others will respect you for it. Let them take care of their own issues!

I think you are AMA-Z-ing!

Way to go Z! I'm finally letting go of doing for others also. I like to see people happy but I can't take responsibility for that, only for my own happiness. And yes, it does feel good! Keep it up!

I am enough.

I almost cried when I saw this picture. It tugged at my heart at first, then opened it wide.

I am enough. You are enough. & that's enough.

Signed up for a powerlifting meet

Sunday, September 15, 2013

It's official, I've got my first powerlifting meet on the calendar. On December 7th I'll be competing in the Northwest Powerlifting Championships sponsored by Hardcore Powerlifting. There's a concurrent event called Kings of the Bench 9 which brings out some big names in pro bench pressing. I'm totally excited!
