5 months later (approximately)
I'm still running. We've even ordered a treadmill that we'll be receiving this Friday. Lately, the roads haven't been good for weekend running, so I'm happy that I'll have an option when the weather is an issue.
I like running in the cold q... Read more
In many ways, I'm a data person. Numbers motivate me. And really, I'm not alone in this. For instance, when I run, while I care how I feel when I run, I care more about things like distance and speed. Am I trending up? Beating records? Getting w... Read more
Rather than writing a series of negative posts, I'm going to condense my crabbing into a single blog entry. I need to vent a little bit today.
Dear "The SparkPeople Blog": Remember back when you used to post AT LEAST one new post a day? Rem... Read more
Early morning run
I've been struggling with the W8D2 run. I've attempted it twice, and due to various issues, I haven't been able to complete it. I've accepted that maybe I'm not quite ready for it, and I just need to let myself rest and scale myself back a littl... Read more
I changed my user name today. I decided that I wanted a completely unique name for Sparkpeople. Being that this is the only place I ever blog, it makes sense to use a different name (at least to me).
I started Week 8 of C25K yesterday. This... Read more
My breakfast this morning was a Luna Peanut Butter Protein bar. I've always had issues getting my required protein for the day, but I've found that ever since I've started eating one of these for breakfast, it's so much easier to meet my protein... Read more
Finished Week 6 today.
Focusing on time now, and not so much speed.
Though when I run a 5k later this year, I don't want to be last. That's a huge fear.
Someday I want to be good at this...... Read more
Nothing is like running.
When I ran W6D1 yesterday, part of me just wanted to stop. I was bored and tired. Running too fast and not running fast enough. But the bigger part of me just wanted to keep going. And that's what pushed me through ... Read more
I've noticed that so many people I work with have a Fitbit now! I'm still a little shy about it, just because I don't want my coworkers to think that I'm copying them. Still, I think we really ought to create a Fitbit team for our group.

After a miracle recovery with my knees, I managed to get W4D3 in yesterday with C25K. While I will still continue frequently walking and working on C25K, I'm not going to focus on other cardio, such as the bike, 30 Day Shred, and tabata. I don't... Read more

Hoping for W4D2
On Monday, I managed to survive W4D1 of C25K. The biggest issue that I encountered was a dead mouse on the sidewalk - yuck! Otherwise, I jogged when I was supposed to jog, and walked the rest of the time. Tonight, I'll see how W4D2 goes.

The good and the bad...
So yesterday I ran out of patience and went to another local running store that had shoes my size. Hello Brooks Addiction! I opted to just do the classic Winsor Pilates 20 minute DVD yesterday so I could rest my foot. This morning I tested the s... Read more
What to do?
With my history of foot and ankle issues, it's been very frustrating trying to decide if I should resume C25K with my mildly sore foot. The pain is near the top of the left foot, and depending on the day, sometimes the left side hurts, and somet... Read more
So I just deleted all of my previous entries from 2009 since that was a different time and I was a different person. Here I am, four years later, and in the last few weeks, I've started trying to become fit again. Here's what I've learned so far... Read more
