Milestone Coming Up
I'm about to hit 10,000 points on Spark People. I'd like to say that in the past year or so that I've been on the Web site, I've lost lots of weight, but it's not so. I lost some, gained it back. But I've been soaking up the message and the atti... Read more
No Resolution, Just Ongoing Goals

Do you look at your feet when you run?
Tonight after i got back from picking up my husband at work, I still felt energetic, so I took Electra, my border collie, for a C25K walk/run. I'm working on week 3 - for as long as it takes - and I still haven't been able to run the whole parts... Read more
Hurray, the rain quit!
Yesterday it just poured here, hard. The street beside our administration building became a river, while the water surged and bubbled out of the manhole. The fire hydrant up the street was half under water. We're not near a creek or river; the r... Read more
Vacations are excellent!
So last week I camped among lions on a mountain in Arkansas. Seven of them roared through the night, their humphs and grunts echoing off the surrounding mountaintops. If you ever get a chance to go to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, GO!... Read more
Feral cat update
Also, Bertie, the orange and white feral cat, has become my bestest friend. I can't walk in the bedroom without him weaving between my feet. Putting on pants has become a delicate dance so I don't step on him. And he runs in every morning as soo... Read more

C25K week 2
What I learned this week:
My legs hurt when I start out, but relax after about the first 10 minutes.
I gasp for breath for the first half of the run, but then recover faster in the second half. It gets easier.
This all seems very count... Read more
