I recently listed August goals and acknowledged my July set-back. At yesterday's weigh-in finally saw a loss, not all the gained weight is off, but 1.75 pounds are. I'm keeping an August motivation calendar. Today's goal is a detailed food diary... Read more
One step forward ... how many steps back?
I was doing so well during the month of June. Was collecting turtles (maintaining) and hoping for a loss to cap off the month. That didn't happen, I temporarily lost my focus, so now I am facing August up 3 pounds. This is my least favorite time... Read more
How many turtles before you need a license?
Did it again. Stayed at the same weight 3 weeks in a row. It wasn't a perfect eating week, but an effort was made and one of these days I'd better see a loss. Meanwhile, will add to my little string and try a bit harder next week.

Companions collecting whole herd of turtles ...
Well, we did it again. With every best intention of recording a weight loss yesterday we picked up a second turtle, so now we have quite the menagerie. Not to make excuses, but the week did involve several lunches out plus the beginning of a hom... Read more

I expected to see another small loss at weigh-in today but ended up staying the same. While waiting for the meeting to begin was racking my brain trying to figure out why. I had lunch out with friends yesterday and ordered a grilled chicken "lig... Read more

Weigh in went well today, another 1.5 pounds off. I think I'm being motivated toward better choices not only by having an official goal weight, but also desire to improve my blood numbers. The Labradoodle is adjusting to a few less treats, and g... Read more

Truff and I worked hard this past week and I was finally rewarded with 1.75 loss at weigh-in yesterday. Biggest reason I can think of was attention to portion control and a bit less between meal snacking. Results of my blood work not as good as ... Read more

Didn't get good news from scale Thursday. No excuses, way too many excess calories. The 1.25 gain served as proof that if I bring the treats into the house I am going to eat them. On Friday on Doctor's scale I had already made a bit of progress ... Read more

Week 3 a bit of a disappointment. Weight up 3/4 of a pound for me, not sure about the dog, don't have means here at home to weigh her. We have been watching her treats, but obviously I fell short of monitoring mine. Let some emotional issues get... Read more
Well, it's been a week and the dog and I have tried. I stayed the same at my weekly weigh-in today and Truff looks no larger. I'm not good with photos, did manage to put one of the dog in my gallery (Less Food, More Exercise, Exhausting) in her ... Read more
Companions on the journey
Changing my status on my Spark Page this morning, realized I had not posted a blog since February 29. Wish I could say that in that two months I was 5 pounds lighter and closer to goal. Unfortunately, wishing does not make it so. However, I can ... Read more
Waiting out a "clipper" system passing through northern Michigan right now, quite a contrast to yesterday's spring-like 50 degrees. Read with interest Spark's list of suggested activities for this bonus February day. Not much outdoor activity a... Read more

Thursdays are my weigh-in days. Weather forced cancellation of our meeting last week, my home scales showed a loss. Apparently I took that as permission to relax food program as I narrowly stayed the same at yesterday's scale encounter. Could it... Read more

My New Year's momentum experienced a small setback at yesterday's weigh-in with a 3/4 # gain. Would like to blame the high sodium dinner of the night before, but in reality took several liberties with my food program during the week and it caugh... Read more

Actually, this blog is about more than September goals, although I've set some and hope to follow through. Several of the blogs I've read lately have really provided good food for thought. I could plug myself into any one of them and report the ... Read more
