I've had some good success on WW. So far I'm down about 8.5lbs and my husband is down about 5 even though he isn't actually doing WW, he's just eating what I eat - although I remind him to eat more because he has higher calorie requirements.

As I say in my other blog, I'm not really sure if this is a sign of desperation or a good plan. There's a bit of fear here that I'll fail yet again, but I have a bit of a plan of what I'm looking for and I had some success with WW previously so ... Read more
Way back in April - pretty much the moment we could schedule it after I finished treatment, we went to Vegas. You'll probably remember that I'm a bit of a Vegas addict and we hadn't been for a year. We hadn't been ANYWHERE for a year. (I spen... Read more
I haven't posted much at all in the last year. A year ago at this time, I was in the middle of stampede AND going through all of the diagnostic steps around breast cancer. While training for a half marathon that I never ran.

I feel amazing. It helps that most things in my life are going really well right now - it makes it easier to stay on plan when I'm happy. It's nice to have no reason to resort to emotional eating. It's great to see success on the scale (and i... Read more
One day back in October, an image ended up in my Facebook news feed. On the surface, it was simply another piece of fitspiration - something I remain on the fence about. The picture was of a beautiful, fit woman surrounded by her three young c... Read more
Back in my last post, I talked about things I was doing right and things I was doing wrong. And I said I was starting the next day improving those things I wasn't doing well. That was in October.
For the record, I'm pretty happy with what... Read more
I've been slacking lately and feeling quite badly about it. I haven't even been logging on to SP (great new homepage btw).

I've got to tell you, I was pretty excited about my morning weigh in today. It's not that I've been eating exceptionally well. Or exercising as much as I'd like, but I had a good weigh in. I felt like I was finally down and I'd be able to upd... Read more

My 5k was this morning. And I have to say that if you're in the Calgary area next September, you might want to consider running in this event. It benefits the Spark Science Center in Calgary - which I've never been to, but I hear good things a... Read more
Last night I went to the gym and I got on the treadmill. I didn't have a plan, really. I was still debating whether I'd do intervals or just try to do the whole 5k when I started the treadmill.
Five minutes in, I decided to give an interv... Read more
