Body Mass Index (BMI) and Healthy Weight

It is not possible for someone else to let you know your exact ideal body weight. However, we can help you find a healthy weight range. We've found that calculating Body Mass Index, or BMI, helps determine this weight range.  BMI considers your weight and height to determine total body fat.

There are some drawbacks to using BMI.  It is not very accurate for pregnant women, people under 5 feet tall, and people who have a lot of muscle mass.  A recent article found that Brad Pitt was overweight using BMI!

Just remember, BMI is a guideline to help you decide your target weight.  If you feel you need more help, you can talk to your doctor or other health professional.
