Thanksgiving Cross-Country Classic

Description
Work up an unforgettable Thanksgiving appetite with a European-style 5K around Reid Park. Separate men’s and women’s events creates a fun opportunity to cheer on friends and family as they hurdle hay bales and water jumps. Team division available. Great prizes include “turkeys” and pumpkin pies!

8:45 AM Open Men’s 5K
9:30 AM Co-Ed 1.5 M Fun Run

Race Distances and Courses
5K Run
1.5M Fun Run/Fitness Walk
Moderately hilly, multiple loop (spectator-friendly!) 5K grass course complete with hay bales and water jumps.

Reid Park, Ramada 10
Country Club immediately north of 22nd Street

Race Fees
Postmarked by 11/18/09 or delivered to The Running Shop by 11/20/09.

Please note that registration for all events closes at 8 am on race day!

Registration
* Print Registration Form and mail it in. Registration by mail must be postmarked by Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
* Register online with a credit card at active.com.
* In-person registration and packet pick-up at The Running Shop (3055 N. Campbell) Saturday, November 21 10-5, or Monday, November 23 through Wednesday, November 25, 10-6.
* Race day registration & packet pick-up will be available at from 7:00 AM and will close promptly at 8:00 AM. Please arrive early enough to register on time - registration for all events closes at 8 AM!

Team Division (optional)
Teams of up to 7 men or women may enter. The top 4 times of each team will be totaled for the best team times. No co-ed teams are allowed. Top men’s and women’s team will win awards.

Teams and team members must be registered by Wednesday, November 25. No team members may sign up on race day, and no teams may be formed on race day. Active.com registration is not available for teams.

Awards
5k Awards
Overall Male and Female winners and Master’s Male and Female winners will receive a pair of Brooks Running Shoes from The Running Shop.

“Turkeys” to the top finisher and pies to the runner-up in each age group.

Awards for top men’s and women’s teams (see below).
Age groups are: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-18, 19-24, 5 year divisions through age 79, and 80 and over.

Fun Run Participants will receive a finisher’s ribbon.

Beneficiaries
The race benefits Toys for Tots. Please consider making an additional donation of a new, unwrapped toy on race day. Let’s fill up those donation boxes!
