The Morton Arboretum is a wonderful place for biking and hiking. It's about 30 minutes west of Chicago on I88. They have terrific kids programs, concerts in the park and a lovely restaurant with some delicious and healthy meal choices.

In case anyone is looking for family friendly entertainment at the Morton Arboretum, there are shows put up in the Summer & Fall on Weekend Days (3pm). I am currently involved in one of the shows called 'Mountain Day's and it is packed with beautiful songs and a love for nature! The show also involves a 2 mile hike through beautiful Morton Arboretum. For more details go to http://www.theatre-h

Yes I love the Arboretum too ! Hate to say I usually enjoyed it driving through in my car - this year I'll try my legs.
The arbo. will be hosting the dog sleds on January 25 & 26.
They've done a wonderful job introducing kids to nature.
I took my nephews that were in from Texas and they LOVED it!
Haven't had a chance to get up there and just hike. I will when the weather warms up a bit.

One of my favorite places-all the trails are nice and never crowded.
