Starting at the intersection of Campbell and River Road, this park along the Rillito River is essentially a scenic six-mile trail suitable for walkers, joggers and bikers. You will find the riverbed dry most of the year, so you'll be able to actually walk in the river; but beware of flash floods, especially during the summer monsoon months. The trail offers several pleasant stops with benches, trees, playgrounds and drinking fountains. You're advised to bring water anyway, to avoid being dehydrated by the relentless desert sun.
Comments From Other Members:
I like to walk here for for my long training days. I walk from craycroft or swan up to 1st or Oracle. Really nice and peaceful walk.
I walk the River 4 days a week with my dog. Three of which I walk from La Cholla to 1st and one day a week I push it harder and walk to Campbell and back.
The trail is really pleasant with rabbits and birds, however it gets very congested with bike riders.

I love the River Walk. I can use it to ride my bike to work.
This is the place I walk often. But I walk from La Cholla to La Canada and back. Using walking poles too. I never see anyone else with poles. Not sure why. MOSTLY I see people on bikes.
