Resource Details Below

YRG is not your typical yoga class. We've taken it to a whole new level that is more like Commando Yoga. In fact, we used traditional yoga positions as our foundation and made certain modifications that make YRG an even better workout. Not only have we added new positions such as Diamond Cutter Lunges, we also teach you to add your own muscle resistance…isometrics and isokinetics…by engaging your muscles in every position for the entirety of the YRG workout. All the while, we teach you to use a heart monitor in order to make sure that you are in your fat burning or cardio zones so you can get the most out of each workout.

YRG is the perfect fusion of old school calisthenics and core stability training, along with the hot new concept of isometric and isokinetic strength training. We've taken a few time-tested calisthenics, like push-ups and squats, and we've turned up the heat by slowing them down into a slow-motion burn. This combination will add strength and endurance to anything you do.

Comments From Other Members:

I probably found the sparkpeople.com site because I would find this class here. I have seen bits and pieces on the net about YRG and Dallas Paige.

My girlfriend and I went this morning. Warm, kind, engaging and encouraging - Dallas led the class and promoted a synergy amongst the people participating. . He got everyone into it and brought the level of participation far above just going to a regular yoga class.

Because we all are clock watchers, yoga classes for the most part in the US, unless you are at a retreat or have the time to spend hours of time, don't really satisfy both physical and mental well-being in a hour segment. Our experience with YRG was not the case. 25 people and Dallas Paige did something together. We worked hard.

Very easy to understand modifications to allow one to participate were explained. The mods brought a "level playing field" to this class on, yes, a playing field. YRG has taken the best of many poses and techniques and combined them to make a most satisfying workout. Again, yoga for an hour is not enlightenment or even coming close. But working at our own individual levels, my girlfriend and I came away feeling great, physically nourished and the positive; larger then life presence of D Paige did a mental uplift. Even without knowing about his generous acts and giving of time, it was spoken clearly through his interaction.
This is an exciting new door for us. We plan to go back. We also will buy his DVD program to utilize this workout at home. Thank you sparkpeople and thank you "Hellojodi" for posting this. And thank you Dallas Paige and Angela-who, I was told teaches when Dallas can't and came over and offered make-sense tips to my girlfriend.
