The Jacksonville–Baldwin Rail-Trail is one big surprise from beginning to end. Running from the highly urbanized Jacksonville to the bedroom community of Baldwin, you would expect an urban trail with lots of noise and commotion. Nothing is farther from the truth! This trail is downright serene. It travels through woodlands most of the way, with only a few houses at widely interspersed intervals. Even with I–10 only a few miles to the south, traffic noise is at a minimum unless the wind is from the right direction—and that’s rare for this area. Surface: Asphalt; 12 feet wide.

Does anyone know where in Jville this trail starts?
This is a great trail to ride especially in the fall when the leave are starting to turn colors. In the summer it is nice cause a lot of the trail is tree covered so it keeps the baking sun off of you, keeping you cooler. At 14.5 miles one way, it makes for a nice 1.5 to 2 hr ride for me.
