- Submitted by ACORALSEA - 10 Comments

Resource Details Below

We're not about the speed, we're all about walking/running for fitness. We also train for a marathon, half marathon or other distance events. You're invited to join us for casual coached walk/runs in the Georgetown/Round Rock area, or virtual training online. Our coach, The Slow Fat Runner, has trained with USAFit and Jeff Galloway and is an experienced marathoner/half marathoner.

My training season with USAFit-Round Rock runs from Sept to Feb, ending with the Austin Marathon/Half Marathon. During the off-season, between March and July, you are welcome to meet me and others on Saturday mornings at Runtex, Georgetown or on the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. All runs are free.

Runtex provides water along the routes, and offers routes of varying distances each week that run through downtown Georgetown and along San Gabriel Park.

The Brushy Creek Trail runs along Brushy Creek Rd. from the east end (Hairy Man Rd) to Parmer Ln., and now connects to the trail that continues under Parmer Ln. toward Hwy 183.

You're welcome to email me via my SP username. :))

IMPORTANT ALERT

I just learned last night that the SlowFatRunners companion website has been hacked and your PC might be infected with a virus if you go there. I've been trying to resolve this serious issue with the hosting service as quickly as possible.

I can't get the link to work. Says the site is down.

I'm not fat but i am slow. Only half heartedly starting jogging a couple of yeasrs ago when I was 59 years old, so I think I could benefit. Can whoevcer posted this provide some additional info about where and when you meet since the site doesn't seem to be operational? Thanks.
