Northwestway Park offers 117 acres of recreation opportunities that includes a 135,000 gallon outdoor aquatic center (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day).
The site contains varying topography, vegetation, a creek and open prairie land, which create rich opportunities for environmental education. Little Eagle Creek with its surrounding flood plain offers a teaching tool for wetland wildlife.

The seasonal aquatic center is a zero depth entry facility with a fan-shaped area offering various play features (geysers, dumping buckets and an in-pool spray shower); four slides for all ages (including the largest body slide in the Park's system; a 25-yard three lane swimming area; large deck and grass sunning areas with chairs/lounges; three large fun-brellas for shade; spacious changing/shower rooms with two family change areas and a snack bar area with tables.

Comments From Other Members:
I love walking the trails of Northwestway Park. I haven't been there in a while but hopefully after this week I can return and walk regularly. Do you walk mornings or evening- I'd love to join you sometimes if that is okay with you.
Since 2 of my walking friend and I live on the west side, this is where we will meet to walk. It is a great central place. We walk at least 2 times around the trail and sometimes 3- if time permits- so it is 3.2 to 4.8 mile walks. Not too bad! I wish we would do it more often!
