In southeastern Pennsylvania, the name Nockamixon is synonymous with boating. Four public launching area are provided on the lake and boats may be rented from a park concession. Boats may use motors of 18 horsepower or less. Four public launching areas are provided on the lake. Launching facilities are open 24 hours a day. In addition to having the largest launch ramp in the park, the Marina contains docking facilities for 576 boats up to 24 feet in length. There is also a 76-space dry storage for boats on trailers. Because of the demand for marina space, a waiting list is maintained at the park office for seasonal slips or dry storage spaces. Over 300 picnic tables, ample parking areas and modern restrooms are available April 1 to October 31. Picnic facilities are also available year round at Haycock Launch Ramp. The 2.8 mile bicycle trail and 20 miles of equestrian trails are available for riding in the park. Horses may be rented at a private establishment near the park. Anglers will be able to test their skills against an assortment of warm water species. The fishing pier located at the mid-point of the lake is especially convenient for people with disabilities. Located on the south side of Lake Nockamixon, 10 modern family cabins are available for rentals throughout the year. There are two cabins available for rental that are handicapped accessible. The Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation operates the Weisel Youth Hostel along the Tohickon Creek. This park rocks and is right down the road from me!
I am going to be moving from WA state back to PA this summer and our new rental house is IN Nockamixon. I am so excited be living with nature and I plan to be walking there all the time.
This park is not even 2 miles from my house we frequent here often. If anyone would like to meet up for a team walk let me know. I would love to do it
We love this park. We go here probably twice a month. Usually I meet my brother for a walk but sometimes it's just my husband and our dog. We like to follow the horse trails that go all through the woods. This is a good place to bring your dog but they are now requiring your dog be on a leash. Hard when you have a lab who just wants to swim and fetch her ball! Hee hee. It really is beautiful all through the year!
This is a beautiful park. all year round. There is a nice paved walking path. Also gread for biking. I live near there and enjoy going there. It is very good for physical fitness with an appeal to the nature lover. My husband and I actually saw a pea hen one time around last April. It apparently was someones pet that got lose. It was quite a site. We also rented a pontoon boat and toured the lake. It was great fun!
Its an interesting park and dam. They let the water out twice a year. It is dog friendly too, we take our dog there to go swimming. Fishing and all sorts of things to do. I live around it so its close but still an interesting park.
